Is my cheapest option to buy a pre-paid mobile phone when I get there, or to add international coverage to my U.S. mobile phone plan?

 

Also - I'll have 3 days of purely photographic travel time...any definite places I should go? I'm thinking about Edinburgh, as I've never been, but am open to wherever...want some good inspirational scenery though!
