BG Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Apparently (Wikipedia) he's been without a club for over a year. Seems odd - he must have had a really fast decline - he's only 34 which by goalkeeping standards is hardly old.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 he wasn't that bad either. Surely some club - Newcastle for example - could put him to good use? Or Carra? As a punchbag
Stefano Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Always thought he tried too hard to be the new Schmeichel, i.e. shouting at everyone. He just wasn't as talented.
Boca Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Ideally he needs to play in a warm weather country. Somewhere they don't have ice bulid up on the ball.
Swipe Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I remember i used to ring Team Talk and they were all excited about us signing a dutch international keeper and it must be VDS. Banged on about his career and how good he was. Then the next day they said "actually, no it's some guy called Westerveld"
Chili Palmer Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 was better with his feet than his hands, which, to my untrained eye, must be a disadvantage in a goalkeeper.
Red Kent Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Unfortunate victim of the Kirkland/Dudek fiasco.
Knox_Harrington Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Unfortunate victim of the Kirkland/Dudek fiasco.He was garbage.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 thought he was crap macca. and a bad s***house.yeah. but not that bad. Not so bad he can't get a halfway average club
whitewidow Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 yeah. but not that bad. Not so bad he can't get a halfway average club Looked like Sam the Eagle from the muppets Westerweld
Red Kent Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 He was garbage. No he wasn't, he was a vital part of our treble season. Granted he messed up against Bolton, but he still went on to play well in Spain for Sociedad.
Senrab_nhoj Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 No he wasn't, he was a vital part of our treble season. Granted he messed up against Bolton, but he still went on to play well in Spain for Sociedad. he was rubbish look at every goal we conceded that season and he was flat footed in nearly all of them Mghinty could have done better
CarraLegend Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Him and Oliver Kahn were the best goalies in the world.
Senrab_nhoj Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Wasn't he a really bad ted off the pitch as well? Used to got to Southend on a bank holday and beat up a few mods?
Des Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Unfortunate victim of the Kirkland/Dudek fiasco. You're not serious.
Stevie H Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 he really was very rubbish. inspired no confidence whatsoever yet seemed to have an arrogance about him befitting a far, far better goalie.
Chili Palmer Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Joe Corrigan ruined him. That and the fact that he was rubbish.
Murphman Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 He was trying (unsuccesfully) to get a spot in the MLS last year, THAT'S how sh*t he is now. I never rated him anyway mind, nor that c*nt James. I never quite understood why we let Freidel go actually, what a good keeper he became.
Mike Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 No he wasn't, he was a vital part of our treble season. Granted he messed up against Bolton, but he still went on to play well in Spain for Sociedad. hmmmm he was rubbish.
Stefano Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Watching highlights of James makes me cringe. He was a such a big galoot.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Wasn't he a really bad ted off the pitch as well?Carra was really good mates with him. and his missus

He improved massively from when he was with us though.
