I'm going, can't imagine they'll have anyone of note on show but as they're in town, have to bring the young lad.

Couldn't get a ticket.

I am going to the game in Cork though... should be a right laugh that one.

€40 a ticket for the Dunmanway game is it? Seems really steep, especially when it's unlikely any of the first team will be there.

Yeah it is very steep, but it's completely sold out apart from a few 'corporate tickets' at €100 a pop I believe.

They'd better be playing Pacheco for that kinda money ;)

my thoughts are with the divisibility of coyler's loyalty at this dark juncture :bye:

:D I don't follow Liverpool Reserves or Bohs Reserves, thankfully! This match is all about the turnover.

But I hope Bohs win.

are we playing British Home Stores?

Remember when Liverpool played a League of Ireland, then sponsored by Bord Gais, selection in 1993 at Lansdowne and a Scouse fan, who was sitting in front of me, took a look at the programme and declared increduously:"We're playing the bleeding Gas Board."

Was that the game where Jayson Sherlock played up front?

Only 1-0 against an Irish Sunday league team??

We're doomed I tell you, doomed.

Daniel Pacheco scored a fantastic free-kick as a Liverpool XI enjoyed a 1-0 win over Irish minnows Dunmanway Town in Cork on Thursday afternoon. A crowd of over 7,000 turned out to see John McMahon's young Reds in action featuring Pacheco and Krisztian Nemeth on show.

For John Buckley and his amateur West Cork Soccer League side this game was like a dream come true and Pacheco's goal was certainly a goal to remember.

The Spanish starlet curled home a superb free-kick after 10 minutes.

Dunmanway Town, roared on by a passionate crowd, gave their all and should have equalised just before the break but they missed the target when presented with a glorious opening.

The second half was a pretty even affair and for Dunmanway Town this was an occasion they will never forget.

Liverpool XI squad (all played): Martin Hansen, Emmanuel Mendy, Steven Irwin (Captain), Victor Palsson, Chris Mavinga, Andras Simon, Vincent Weijl, Krisztian Nemeth, Daniel Pacheco, Gerardo Bruna, Nathan Eccleston, Dean Bouzanis, Alex Kacaniklic, Jordy Brouwer.

Is Spearing the captain at reserve level? I don't know if i'm correct in this, but when I watched highlights of one of their games the other day I think Palsson was captain?

Palsson has been captain in the pre-season games so far - Think it was Darby that was capt last season and Spearing the season previous

i am hoping that spearing doesn't play for the reserves any more now that he is part of the 1st team squad

IMO I think Lucas has jumped ahead of Jay in this pre-season so he'll need games in the ressies

lucas is an established player in the first team, i would like spearing, kelly, nemeth to play their bit like elzhar did last season. we have a massive squad in the reserve and the likes of spearing won't learn anything more from playing every week there

Sure, they can play the odd reserve game (i think el zhar was used like this last season) but i am hoping they would see more bench time and the odd 10 minutes
