What tangible bad outcomes were there from his carefully prepared, not angrily delivered, statement about your crowd? I personally think that Ferguson's hilarious statement about our Blackburn game was a far more obvious sign of talking sh*t under pressure.

I dont know anyone who thinks it was anything other than he lost the plot. (Not United fans) It came at a bad time as afterwards you drew a few games you should not have. Like I said, its opinions.

MFletcher Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) It's laughable to suggest that statement had anything to do with our results. It seems United fans are only too eager to buy into the meda-driven myth of mind games actually being anything other than a supposedly entertaining sideshow with tangible on-pitch effect. I think all fans are guilty of that. Its more a case of see which way the wind blows after the event. Its all part of the game. Dont you think there will be more pressure on Benitez this season? This year the fans and media really think Liverpool stand a better chance than ever of reaching 19.
stressederic Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 NWR said: Yes. Based on the fact that your form suffered right afterwards. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc. Bravo. On the same line do you think that the pop Ferguson took at Benitez just before we played you at Old Trafford had a negative effect? After all you lost against us, then against Fulham and barely squeaked past Villa.
