What’s your favourite game of the eighties?

 

That’s the subject of tonight’s Special 80’s themed This is Anfield as we turn back the clock to an era of domination at home and abroad as the Liverpool side of the decade steamrollered all before them. During the show we’ll take a look back on five of the best performances from the eighties, including the 5-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest and the 9-0 romp against Crystal Palace. Not only that, but we’ll remember a trio of derby wins that defined the era as Red and Blue battled for Merseyside domination.

 

Also on the show, we’ll be talking about preparations for the new season as Wednesday night’s friendly with St Gallen looms on the horizon. Who are you expecting a big season from? Can anyone from the reserves make an impression on the boss before the big kick-off? And how do you see the team shaping up come August the 16th at Spurs?

 

The Reds appear in good shape for another tilt at the title, but are you worried about some of our big-spending rivals? Can the likes of Manchester City spend their way into the top-four? And do you think that football has gone money mad?
