Chili Palmer Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 John is a lovely fella, not like his persona on the pitch. I wish him all the luck in the world
Ostrich Man Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 b****** and brain cancer? f*** that. good luck john
New York Red Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Check your knackers boys. It's essential. Particularly if you are in your 20's.
Red Kent Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 It's not good when you hear things like this, hope he recovers.
Crazy Horse Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 That's really terrible news. Hope he recovers fully. (although he's now on the post-it note I keep by my desk with my shortlist of candidates for the 2010 deathpool thread)
cymrococh Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Horrible news this, bit of a minor legend in my mind is Big John. Incredibly effective footballer when used correctly, I was still holding out hope of him joining Swansea for one last season of glory.
AE Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Latest news updates suggets it is also in his lungs. With spread like that things are not looking good, but John is definately a fighterHere's hoping for a full recovery.
ManxRed Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Doesn't look good from what's on the BBC site. Terrible shame.
cymrococh Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Latest news updates suggets it is also in his lungs.Sh*t.
Flasher Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 34 years old! These things seem to scare you even more when you're the same age. Good luck John, hope you pull through.
fyds Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I hope he pulls through, but realistically it now seems unlikely. Very sad news.
Boca Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Sad news, especially considering treatment for testicular cancer is so successful if caught early. Went for a medical lately and it was the first time I was told what to look out for when checking down there - and I'm 35.
