Great season at a poor club. I don't think anyone doubts his ability going forward although there is a debate on how he can cope defensively. However, if we want to convert those draws into wins at home against teams who park the bus - quality attacking fullbacks is exactly what we need.

 

Plus he's English. ;)

We'll need to hammer some defensive sense into him, but it'll be good to have a dynamic attacking presence from full back. It should offer us a different dimension when going forward.

I think this is a win-win!

When we need offense he can overlap Kuyt and when we need defense he can overlap Kuyt!

Kuyt and Johnson should be a match made in heaven. Johnson goes bombing up, kuyt does his share of the defensive work (and some) to cover for it.

Welcome Glenn, i think he ll make a huge impact and will help a lot our attacking move...

 

His price however leaves me bewildered, supposedly skint and we buy a full-back a few quid less than juve bought diego...??!!

He was more handsome than Magnum. Sadly he had the pace of Magnum running away from Higgins.

The Daily Mail understands that Chelsea agreed to withdraw from the race to sign Portsmouth's Glen Johnson only after Liverpool suggested they might be open to offers for their Spanish striker Fernando Torres.
