Next season we should send the likes of Spearing, N'gog, Pacheco, and Nemeth on loan

What better way for them to cut their teeth, and really assess whether they have what it takes.

None of those players are likely to really "break through" with us next season, and they would benefit hugely from first team Premiership experience.

There would be no shortage of takers either.

I would love to see the likes of Spearing or N'gog in the first team of a footballing side like Hull or Burnley - it would be hugely interesting.

Thoughts?

I'd sooner send them to top Championship clubs so they could get used to winning and playing in sides which control the ball. Sending them to carthorse sides like Hull, where Ngog would end up being used as a target man who the rest of the side lump the ball to, would be useless to his development.

I'd like to see some of our kids play in SPL, with those lesser teams there there would be chance to get tough games against Celtic and Rangers too.

If Ngog can bulk up in the summer, think he is a good option to have on the bench, hes got decent pace, good feet, lacks a bit of self confidence, but that can be worked upon.

Nemeth would be interesting, seems to have all the attributes, injuries ruined his season this time around, a good pre season might decide whether he goes on loan or joins the first team.

Would like to see Pacheco go to someone like Swansea, or wherever Martinez ends up, his sides play good passing football, he would revel there imo.

Spearing ought to make a Guthrie like loan move, Burnley?

If Tony Mowbray stays in charge at West Brom, that's be a good option - decent attacking side (at that level) who made hay when they were last in that division.

I was just thinking of West Brom. I've no problem with sending some of our players out on loan but they should go to teams who play passing football so the stuff they learn can be applicable to Liverpool.

I think West Brom would be a pretty good destination for a few of our players.

A year chasing after Hull's hoofs could be the making of him.

Though the basic principle is probably a decent one.

What is more, if they do well then those teams are missing one of their best players when they play us and so are disrupted just that little bit ;)

i'd rather them carted out on loan than us selling potential stars of the future!

I like the Idea of the SPL lots of mid-table teams that would (or at least i imagine would) give the kids a fair few games!

Mentioned before that I think Newcastle would be a decent option to send some of our youngsters. Newcastle are going to need to get rid of a number of squad players and may need to take loan players. The likes of Spearing, Nemeth etc would get to play in front of a reasonable number of supporters and more importantly play under (unrealistically) high expectations and the pressures that go with this.

I think it will be more difficult for the likes of spearing as we need english players in our CL squad to fill the quota

Are people are being a touch optimistic? Its not that easy to get clubs to take loan players who are inexperienced. Other clubs in the premier league have their own young players and a squad full of decent pros. A kid from our reserves needs to be very special indeed to get a regular place in the team at any premier league side.

After all, if it was that easy we'd have been sending them out on loan to good sides for ages now, rather than Blackpool, Huddersfield, Accrington etc.

I doubt the likes of Pacheco and Nemeth would be 1st choice for any team in the prem

N'gog shouldn't be sent out on loan. He should be an option for us this season, I like the look of him. He's got a bit of Torres about him and I think he could develop into a top player even though he's pretty rough at the moment.

I'm never sure about loans. No one we ever sends out comes back a better player. Generally they don't perform and get sold, I'm not sure if that's because they just aren't good enough though.

I think we have to careful to Spearing, Ngog and Nemeth. Nemeth had injured himself in his first game on loan wasnt it.

We have to assess the players we sent out on loan last season.

We obviously need to evaluate a club on the basis on the level and type of football they play before sending a kid on loan. However, picking up injuries is part of the parcel of playing football.

That was just bad luck though. He got t****** in the face and broke his cheekbone.

I'd like us to be in a position where we could afford to send Ngog out. That'll depend on us signing a striker though.

Just been watching France v Argentina in the Toulon tournament.

N'Gog looked very good actually, denied what would have been a great goal turning and hitting it on his left by an astonishing save by the Argentina keeper, and took a very cool penalty in the shootout which France won.

I do think he has potential; perhaps regular football with a lower level Premier League team would best help him realise it though, because I think he's good enough and reserve team football isn't condusive to young players getting better.

I thought he started to look a lot better once he scored for us last season

Sending top young defenders on loan to lower premiership or mid table championship and young strikers to good championsip sides is a good basic idea to think upon. Whether they'll get games and things like their sytle of football and distance from hometown club Liverpool, comes into the picture too. Guthrie went on loan to Bolton and did well, imo Spearing is a better player than him and he now needs the regular games to improve. Interestingly, other teams' fans noticed him because he came on against Real a lot more than because he's done really well for the reserves. He has to go out on loan.

Nemeth was supposed to go to Leeds last year which is in the 1st division. I hope that isnt an indicator of the level he's in right now. That said, Leeds have a better ground than many championship sides and Nemeth needs the ball to be on the ground a lot to do well. I think we should keep one young striker to train with the first team and send the others on loan. Nemeth would be in the 2nd list as Ngog is easily our best young striker. Simon could do with a loan spell too.

Pacheco's a tough one. I think i'm right when i say that he will stick with the reserves even though he's too good for it or maybe even train with the first team this year. Last year, a lot of work was done to make him bulk up and add some muscle. The training regimen was based to suit the player, Dani and not the reserves... a good idea for the long term. A bit like Hobbs being played in midfield to improve his awareness and passing skills. I dont think that will happen if he goes out on loan. They'll probably to fit him in the side in a way which would be best for the side. My bet is that Pacheco graduates and trains with the first team playing the odd reserve game and be sent on a 3 month loan in the 2nd half of the season.

Bruna needs another season with the reserves.

Its not spoken about much but Bouzanis is a HUGE talent. Like Gulacsi, i hope he goes out on loan to a championship team with good goalie coaches.

Darby's a weird one. He's a good young defender but has a lot to work to do on his attacking game. Whether he stays here or goes on loan depends on what the backroom staff think is best for him. If he leaves, Irwin can then graduate to the reserve setup to challenge Mendy.

I hope we get backup players who'd be happy to sit on the bench for most of the season but be adequate when brought on to be played in the first team. It (a) Bulks up our squad and (b) doesnt force us to name our youth in the CL squad. Both free up youngsters to go out on loan.

What i havent considered at all is what happens if we decide to play two reserve teams as I have no idea how it works ESPECIALLY with Rafa getting a bunch of new coaches. John McMahon is known for his 'different' training methods and the spanish guys have come in from a completely different youth system environment and will look to impose that here. It could well make most of my predictions void.
