Squad numbers

When do these traditionally get announced? Just before the start of the season? Want to get my Dirk shirt, but don't want him changing number (unlikely but you never know).

 

Also, anyone found somewhere doing Leverkusen Hyypia shirts?

When Kuyt joined he wanted number 7 I remember him saying and its obviously free now, so I wouldn't get it just yet!! However it would be slightly harsh changing numbers when the home kit isn't changing and lots will already have existing names and numbers on them

I think he prefers 25. He had the chance to be our number 1 when Jersy left but didnt take it. On a side note, I just realised that Pepe hasnt saved a single penalty this season which came as a surprise.

I think Pepe was offered it last year but he prefers 25. Something to do with his father I think.

 

Benayoun likewise prefers 15. He changed from 11 last year.

I was saying that to some friends the other day actually. If I had to pick someone (bearing in mind that Torres is plaing a number 9 and Gerrard requested 8) to wear the number 7 shirt, then it would be Dirk Kuyt.
