Woodsyla Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ool/8054673.stm What is the forum opinion on this. I think Rafa is drawing a line in the sand here. He wants a rivalry with Ferguson, he can't stand the man and his bullying tactics and he wants a high profile all guns blazing war with the man. I, for one, applaud it, it's far easier to scrutinise every dodgy decision that goes for United if there is a feud between the manangers. Every press conference Rafa will be asked about United and he can tell it how he sees it. He can provide the FACTS.
Stevie H Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 that would be the same LMA which ferguson essentially runs, which said nothing about ferguson and allardyce's clumsy and pathetic attempt at a character assassination and of which rafa is not a member?

Chili Palmer Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Rafa was right in his 'rant', he was right in not congratulating the f***** and he will be right anytime in the future if he has a go at the c***. plus I also have this feeling that Rafa himself feels better when he is in an arguement with someone, he loves it.
Stevie H Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 interesting that nobody has once really disputed the facts of rafa's statement about ferguson. they just ignore what is blatantly true. why, i don't know.

I think this is the start of something from Rafa, he's a very meticulous man and I believe his long term strategy is to pressure the FA/Premier League to the extent that they have to watch their step re officiating in favour of United. Andy @ Allerton Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 The LMA aren't an organisation to respect. They appear to be Xenophobic 'little Englanders' with an agenda to maintain.
drdooom Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 The LMA aren't an organisation to respect. They appear to be Xenophobic 'little Englanders' with an agenda to maintain. At least they're not french.
JRC Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 interesting that nobody has once really disputed the facts of rafa's statement about ferguson. they just ignore what is blatantly true. why, i don't know.I think the Telegraph did an analysis - questioned some points (Feguson never getting punished - although Rafa himself acknowledeged one ban Ferguson had had), agreed with others, suggested that the same criticism could be pointed at Rafa on some (eg complaining about post-European fixtures). F365 ran something similar. But generally, those without an agenda thought he was more right than wrong in what he said, I would say, and plenty welcomed the fact that he said it.
_00_deathscar Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 How is complaining about post-European fixtures a banning/punishable offence?
JRC Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 How is complaining about post-European fixtures a banning/punishable offence? It's not, but one part of Rafa's accusation against him was the way he complained about those fixtures, but the counter-claim was that we had compained about them as well, previously.
Maharajkumar of Vizianagram Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 At least they're not french. Very good.
DanielS Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Very good. That was for the Andy@Allerton project's benefit, rather than a dig at the French...
Andy @ Allerton Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 That was for the Andy@Allerton project's benefit, rather than a dig at the French... I would have gotten away with it - if it hadn't have been for those pesky Daniel S's..
gkmacca Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 This is the current LMA committee: Slur Ginsoak + Sam AllardyceDave BassettAlan CurbishleyBrian FlynnSteve ParkinDavid PleatLawrie SanchezJohn Ward David Moyes Not exactly the most impressive, or representative, of line-ups.

Yeah I think you are right and it's yet another thing I applaud rafa for. No other manager has had the sense or bottle to come out and say it. Rafa isn't even a member of the LMA, is he ?

Jarg Armani Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 jesus, really? glaring absence of non-british bosses there by the way. Sanchez is there representing Mexico.

(Ferguson is the only successful one in there)
Stevie H Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Sanchez is there representing Mexico.and in fairness dave 'dave' bassett can't speak english.
Malcolm X Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Rafa was right in his 'rant', he was right in not congratulating the f***** and he will be right anytime in the future if he has a go at the c***. plus I also have this feeling that Rafa himself feels better when he is in an arguement with someone, he loves it. The best thing is he ends up winning the argument, see Maurinho as an example.
gkmacca Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Allardyce probably brings Ginsoak some scotch, Bassett some fresh fruit and veg, Curbishley a luvverly bunch of coconuts, Flynn some lamb, Parkin a cake, Pleat some street names and ladies' names, Sanchez some whelks, Ward some more scotch and Moyes just fellates him. Then they all agree on what Ginsoak tells them and go off for a slap-up meal.
