Tosh Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Two from four - Portsmouth look to be safe. Sunderland could put themselves safe tonight, leaving two from three 16 Sunderland 36 26 -17 3617 Hull 37 28 -24 3518 Newcastle 37 29 -18 3419 Middlesbrough 37 35 -28 3220 West Brom 37 34 -31 31 Sunday... Villa v NewcastleWest Ham v BoroHull v ManU Conceivably, they could all lose and stay in their current positions. Boro need a big goal difference swing and an away win (of which they and Newcastle both have 2 all season) to stay up. So you'd think Boro are most at risk as their fate is not entirely in their own hands I guess the question is.... will Ferguson "do a Rafa" (Warnock stylee) and put the kids out v Hull - and even then they will likely win. I have a feeling that the Villa game is the key one. Villa are playing s***, Newcastle s***ter. Could be a cracking game....
Swipe Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Think it'll be Newcastle and Boro. Can't see either of them getting anything in their final games.
MarkD Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Agree with Swipe -think all three of them will lose at the weekend and thus stay in the same positions.
carrafan Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Think Newcastle will get a point at Villa and stay up.
Chili Palmer Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I think Hull will beat Man Utds under 14s, therefore stay in the same position.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Boro are doomed. Think Hull will go too. Newcastle will spawn a point & then start telling us that they'll be taking our EC qualifying spot next season. Like you can finish higher than 1st
Bailo Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Hope Hull stay up for a number of reasons; lots of Hull mates, Newcastle and their big club obsession annoy me, prefer to see a few promoted sides stay up, Hull deserve it for having some balls earlier in the season (though mysteriously losing them later on!).
ManxRed Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 [obvoussarcasm] Hey, it'd be a really big shame to see Owen plying his trade in the Championship, eh? [/obvioussarcasm]
MFletcher Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 THink Boro will lose and Newcastle will draw. Depends on what team United put out really, but could see Hull getting a point and staying up.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 [obvoussarcasm] Hey, it'd be a really big shame to see Owen plying his trade in the Championship, eh? [/obvioussarcasm] couldn't happen though.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I guess the question is.... will Ferguson "do a Rafa" (Warnock stylee) and put the kids out v Hull - and even then they will likely win. His team will be Foster Da SilvaEvans???Da Silva FletcherGibsonAndersonPark MachedaWelbeck
ManxRed Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 couldn't happen though. It'd be amusing if the only teams that came in for him were Bolton or Blackburn or similar.
fyds Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Given the goal difference, Boro are already dead meat. Newcastle or Hull...Hul Vs Man United Creche 2nd 11 or Newcastle v The Brian Rix Aston Villa 'whoops my trousers vicar' all stars...too close to call.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 It'd be amusing if the only teams that came in for him were Bolton or Blackburn or similar.wouldn't surprise me in the slightest
fyds Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 wouldn't surprise me in the slightestnah - there'll be at least one big club in for him...Everton perhaps
ManxRed Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Tragically, I suspect Man City is where he'll end up.
_00_deathscar Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Before I replied to this thread, on the forum, the list of topics appeared as follows: "So who is going down?" "Didier Drogba"
Cam Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 It's down to Hull or Newcastle and every inch of me crawls with the thought that the Geordies will stay up - they'll be lauding Shearer as the true Messiah and by July normal business will resume with "this is our year, pet". Sadly, the Mancs will hammer Hull, reserves or not, and Villa will capitulate to The Football Genius.
Rimbeux Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Sunderland now find themselves having to beat Chelsea
fyds Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Provided Newcastle win at Villa and Hull get something against United - so in other words, they should be safe. It's between Hull and Newcastle I reckon.
smithdown Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 F*ckinell, just had a quick look at the table - Stoke could finish above Man City. Think back to last summer, you'd have got great odds for that.
sutty Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 It's down to Hull or Newcastle and every inch of me crawls with the thought that the Geordies will stay up - they'll be lauding Shearer as the true Messiah and by July normal business will resume with "this is our year, pet". Sadly, the Mancs will hammer Hull, reserves or not, and Villa will capitulate to The Football Genius. Villa will beat Newcastle I reckon. That's my tip, from the same source that brought you the nailed on chester le street draw
Gravy Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I dreamt last night that Sunderland went down - Geordies to win, Hull to draw and Sunderland to lose - by reckoning though for that to happen they would have to lose about 5-0??
