I've started a new thread as I've managed to avoid everything about last night's game so far and long may it remain that way. Basically, the lack of text messages received last night tells the story.

So....

Chlels are now 5/4 to qualify by any means

0-0 is 8s

Barca in ET 22s

pens 35s for each team

As long as neither side loses anyone significant for the final I really don't care who goes through. I'd prefer Barcelona if forced to pick, but at least Chelsea will be more resillient than bloody Arsenal against the other finalists if they do get through.

think chelsea are going to waltz it. drogba will be w*nking himself silly at the thought of going up against pique and abidal in a must-win home game. barca might score one but chelsea will score more.

I badly want Barca to win but I think Clesea have got more chance of beating United so catch 22.

United would IMO rip Barca's defence tio bits in the final. It would all depend how many Barca scored of course but I would have a bad feeling about it.

I think people are underestimating how good Barca is.. watch the game

their midfield and attack are beautiful. their defence is sub-average and their 'keeper is crap.

Scored 6 on Saturday but the defending was abysmal, I don't think it's a surprise that English opposition have knocked them out the last two years. For all the talk of the Premier League being the most entertaining with its swashbuckling style it's the quality of the defending of the top 3 that has set them apart from the rest of Europe and has led to their recent success in the CL.

Chelsea - Barcelona 1-2 (0-1)

Iniesta 44'

Lampard pen 48'

Henry 88'

Barcelona - Man Utd 1-0 (1-0)

Messi 22'

Put your house on it!

5/4 on Chelsea to qualify is my bet.

i can't see the Barca defence being able to cope with Drogba from set pieces.

Chelsea will give the mancs a tougher game in the final. I think Barca's style of play would suit the mancs.

The last think i'd want after United doing a treble would be to lose my house. :D

It wouldn't matter then so you might as well give it away if it happens :(

Hopeful whoever goes through will be able to give the Mancs a game.

Barca are so good in attack and play just the kind of one touch, quick football that can really trouble United, while Chelsea are tough and resilient and will try to suffocate them. They've the added incentive of revenge and will have Hiddink in their corner this time.

The facts are;

1. If Chelsea win then I win money for predicting the Mancs and Chelsea would win in the last 2 days

2. If Chelsea win then I win more money for predicting the final would be between Chelsea and Manchester United

3. If Chelsea win then the final will be a draw at full time. A Draw at Extra time and Chelsea will bottle the pens again.

I also win a shed load of cash when the Mancs win the league and 'Champions' League.

Not enough to make it worthwhile though.

I didn't watch last nights game - but it was blindingly obvious to all but a few silly people that it would be a walk in the park.

As I said earlier in the season - Wenger has made Arsenal the laughing stock of the league and Europe. Too little investment too late with no backup plans or contingency.

I would love him to be in charge of Arsenal for the next ten years because it's becoming obvious that he's taking them down into a downward spiral - I can see Everton and Villa overtaking them in the league next year and once that money dries up, their soulless bowl with uninterested fans will become a big, heavy chain around their necks.

I can see the same for us if we're stupid enough to move - more proper fans will leave to be replaced by hangers on, the slightly interested and the corporate knobends.

Should be an interesting next few years! :D

Whoever wins tonight will win the competition, and deservedly so.

No. Chance.

If Barca win - they will give the Mancs a game. If Chelsea win - then that's number 4 for Manchester United right there.

Chelsea knocked us out so i think they will win it

Dont care if they do or Barca.. Just cant stand Manure winning it..

I think this is probably (please god) the case. Both Chelsea and Barca will be able to rest players leading up to the final and thanks to us United won't be able to. Chelsea were massively impressive at Anfield under Guus after being poor in the league, i fancy them to catch United in the same way. Barca i don't fancy quite as much but if they get past Chelsea then it will be enough for me to think that i've underestimated them a bit.

Still don't think United have papered the cracks enough to win all their games.

think chelsea might try to kick the f*** out of united in the final. boot ronaldo repeatedly, wind rooney up, the lot. they're a different proposition in europe under hiddink than they were under grant last term, hiddink knows how to win stuff.

I disagree. If the Mancs got an early one against Barca I could see heads dropping and a subsequent folding. Chelsea would at least attempt to get stuck into them.

Not sure I agree with that Des. As has been well documented - Barcelona have a crappy defence - and don't seem to care too much about that fact.

Them losing one or two goals wouldn't matter to them I don't think because they'd be confident they could score two or more back (As they have done many times this season)

I think if Cheslea lose a goal or two - then they might get it back to a draw - but then as I said, I'd fully expect them to hold on til penalties where they would once again bottle it.
