Murphman Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Football isn't more important, Shankly was wrong. Get well soon all of them.
Woodsyla Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Football isn't more important, Shankly was wrong. Get well soon all of them.He was f***ing misquoted. He never said it. Back on topic, terrible thing to happen

Des Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Football isn't more important, Shankly was wrong. Shankly didn't say it was more important, like.
Snookie Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 terrible stuff. Lets hope they all make a full recovery
johngibo YPC Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Shankly didn't say it was more important, like. So what is the quote then?
Woodsyla Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 So what is the quote then?http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/lfc_story/quotes.htm "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." Bill Shankly Tongue so far in cheek it was poking through the other side.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/lfc_story/quotes.htm "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." Bill Shankly Tongue so far in cheek it was poking through the other side. absolutely, it's like saying "Bob Monkhouse was wrong - his dad didn't really die whilst driving a bus full of passengers".
Murphman Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 For the record i don't think Mr Shankly was being entirely serious with whichever version is correct, I was simply making a point.
anfield11 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england...ter/8035107.stm Hope they are ok, hate to see things like this with little'uns - irrespective of allegiance. How do you get a step grandson?
PrittStick Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 How do you get a step grandson? Your son marries a woman who already has a child. Apparently the kid's had surgery for pressure on the brain. Not a good thing, that.
Mike Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 f*** me. trap street is where the black swan is, i used to chef there when i was at uni. its a very rural road, middle of the countryside, that gastro pub is practically the only thing on it. back road from holmes chapel to congleton.
RP Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 He was f***ing misquoted. He never said it. Except he did - as quoted above.
Bootser Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Agree with the sentiments above but Rednose didn't look too perturbed during the Scum v Arsenal match that evening ... was actually looking quite chuffed and pleased etc. He did not have the demeanour of a loving Grandfather who was maintaining a stiff upper lip approach to the fact that earlier in the day his Grandson was seriously injured. The man is a cvnt.

Des Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 So what is the quote then? I'm not sure Bill actually thought football was more important than people dying.
