Sion Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Probably McMoneyman, but i'm voting for Benayoun because he's not a massive massive greedy blue t***.
Maldini Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 McManaman was a f***ing fantastic player at his best. We'd have won the league with him in our squad this year.
Zoob Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 McManaman was a f***ing fantastic player at his best. We'd have won the league with him in our squad this year. yep.
Chili Palmer Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Who I would pick for ability would be McManaman, Yossi, Garcia, who I liked the best would be the opposite. Loved Lil Luis.
Farmer's Tan Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 i loved little luis, came up with the goals when it mattered and if half the team around him was as creative and in tune during games he would have looked and done so much better.i would love to see him in the team now with torres and gerrard and benny with his vision and ability to pick a pass we would score a s*** ton
Hassony Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 McManaman was a f***ing fantastic player at his best. We'd have won the league with him in our squad this year.he was better than Giggs for a while, its a shame he didn't have a strong manager like Rafa at the time
stressederic Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 McManaman would have been ace in this team so it has to be him really followed by Luis Garcia and then Benny (no slight against Benayoun who has been ace in the last few months).
Hassony Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 McManaman would have been ace in this team so it has to be him really followed by Luis Garcia and then Benny (no slight against Benayoun who has been ace in the last few months). Now That's just ace
redjersey Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Can't believe 'other' has only got 2 votes so far. Barnes, Dalglish, Beardsley anyone?
stressederic Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Now That's just ace Hmm I may have overused a word in that post. On the plus side I've kept control of my 'shift' key so it's not all bad.
smithdown Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 At their most effective? Garcia could be magic. No contest.
madaboutlfc Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 mcmanaman... really was a shining light in those dark dark days..
fyds Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Macmanaman at his most (and regularly) effective was devastating - but for a team based on professionalism and solid team spirit I'd go for Benayoun or Garcia - Benayoun does fit very well into the style , ethos and speed we play with now - Macmanaman would be less 'central' to this teams needs and I'm not sure he'd unbalance it in some ways. If Yossi could occasionally take one touch less, he'd score and make twice as many as he does.
Nerik Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Macca by a long distance. He carried the team for long periods in the mid-90s. In our current team he'd have a field day interlinking with Gerrard and Torres.
Archangel Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I seem to recall a more frustrating Macmanaman, a player who undoubtedly had the ability to go past defenders but not an awful lot of intelligence to figure out what to do when he got there Still I bow to the views of the above whose memories are no doubt clearer Didnt stop me voting for Benayoun though, smashing little player he is
Flight Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 He carried the team for long periods in the mid-90s. Redknapp in his prime, Digger, Molby, Fowler, Collymore. Not sure he carried us; our problems then were in defence, not attack, largely thanks to a goalkeeper who didn't know when to turn his playstation off and get some sleep. I seem to recall a more frustrating Macmanaman, a player who undoubtedly had the ability to go past defenders but not an awful lot of intelligence to figure out what to do when he got there Agree with this.
cymrococh Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) Garcia was brilliant but hate the nickname "Lil' Luis".Not as bad as King Luis. 'king Luis was more accurate. Edited May 4, 2009 by Paul Caruso
Big Sami Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Not as bad as King Luis. 'king Luis was more accurate. Voted for MacManaman. Him, Gerrard and Torres would have pissed all over defences this year, easily
Andy @ Allerton Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I'd rather be a Manc than have McManaman at the club.
Barabis Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVo_gIAIIsw bought back a few memories
