Igors Uncle Dave Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Its not something that I am proud of but I think it would be better for us if the Mancs were to win tonight. It will mean that they will continue their attentions elsewhere and provide them with another two games outside of the League. Hopefully it will drain their players and pick up a couple of vital injuries! Just a thought
DanielS Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) That way madness lies. Beware! Edited April 15, 2009 by DanielS
Woodsyla Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Its not something that I am proud of but I think it would be better for us if the Mancs were to win tonight. It will mean that they will continue their attentions elsewhere and provide them with another two games outside of the League. Hopefully it will drain their players and pick up a couple of vital injuries! Just a thoughtI've been saying that all along. Mancs on penalties after extra time. It means then they have to face Spurs two/three days before the first leg of the CL semi. Distraction, weakend side, it all gives us a better chance. If we weren't hoping for the Mancs to falter I'd want them to lose but we are a long way behind, we need them to have many balls in the air to sneak this. A draw on Sunday would be nice as well.
Jarg Armani Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Just plain wrong. It's not tiredness that will get them, the squad can handle all comps. It's lack of belief, wobbles and panic. Any game they don't win from now on is good news.
psl Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Don't agree with the principle as I think we need them rocking as much as possible. Furthermore, even if I thought the principle was sound, there's no way I wouldn't be cheering like hell if they lose. They could win all the major trophies this year and move on to 19-4 in so doing. We need them out ASAP.
Falconhoof Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I tend to agree with that idea that a two legged semi would drain them a bit. I'm also wary of the fact that it might give them a psychological boost to get through against Porto. The semi final of the European cup might inspire some of their players to find their form. Going out tonight, continuing to concede goals might damage their confidence in the league. You have to question the strength of either potential semi-final opponents and how difficult a test that would be in preventing the Mancs getting to another final. Porto have been underestimated though, if they play to their full ability then they will score goals against that Man U defence.
Falconhoof Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 A draw on Sunday would be nice as well. Everton are well up for that.extra time and a defeat on penalties would do. Lets just hope Everton go hard in the tackle and Ronney sees red.
Redray Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I hope they get absolutely battered. A thoroughly good pasting, to knock further the already bruised confidence.
psl Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I think they'll win 2-1 tonight and beat Everton this weekend.
Beardsley Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I want them to loose, and loose bad. A real flogging by Porto will shatter all confidence they have and it will make it so much easier for our run-in.
pt101 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Although I can see where the OP is coming from, the sooner their 'quintuple' dream fades away the better. I actually think Porto will go through. 1-1 draw this evening. Hopefully the bluesh*te will further erode the 5-trophy dream at the weekend.
Magic8Ball Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I want the mancs beaten humiliated and losing confidence ...
Flight Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Hopefully the bluesh*te will further erode the 5-trophy dream at the weekend. Not much chance of that; Gollum is already applying liberal doses of Vaseline, as we speak.
Siang Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Not much chance of that; Gollum is already applying liberal doses of Vaseline, as we speak. Oi! i spilled tea all over my laptop when i read your statement!!!class!!!!
Tosh Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Extra time, in which they score their first and concede a stupid equaliser after 118 minutes would be nicest However, we all know they'll go through and meet one of Barca/Chelsea in the final
matty Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Get them out asap. And I want the blueschit to beat them on Sunday. The more defeats the better.
John am Rhein Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Its not something that I am proud of but I think it would be better for us if the Mancs were to win tonight. It will mean that they will continue their attentions elsewhere and provide them with another two games outside of the League. Hopefully it will drain their players and pick up a couple of vital injuries! Just a thought I hope they go to extra time, pick up a couple of vital injuries and lose 13-12 on penalties and then pick up some more injuries in a post-match brawl
Swipe Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Hope they get battered to f*** tonight. And again on Sunday.
slapnuts Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I hope they get absolutely battered. Me too, if they stay in it will breed confidence. Come on Porto batter them in both senses!
MFletcher Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Are you mad? United would be going into a semi-final with one of the poorer sides left in the competition and would likely make the final. I'm not having them winning the European Cup again. They have to go out. Immediately.

johngibo YPC Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 If someone could GUARANTEE them winning tonight would mean us winning the league then i would hope they win. But noone can. So i hope they get t***tted
