stressederic Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 It turns out that arsenal have got some pretty big injury problems again: J Djourou Knee Injury no return date G Clichy Back Injury 26th Apr 09 M Almunia Ankle/Foot Injury 2nd May 09 W Gallas MCL Knee Ligament Injury no return date V Diaby Thigh Muscle Strain no return date E Da Silva Groin Strain 15th Apr 09 T Rosicky Hamstring Injury no return date That's almost their entire backline out at the moment and, in all likelihood, for their game against us. Could be a good moment to play them if we can get Gerrard fit again for it and stick him and Torres up against them.
Nebraska Red Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i'll be happy with a poxy deflected goal off the ref's ass in the alst minute of added time. with a week off, we should be ready and raring to go.
Maldini Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 We've a week between all our games now pretty much. I expect Rafa to have our lads drilled as f*** for every team. 6 wins from 6 games.
Stevie H Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 they've been looking more like a side with adebayor, fabregas and walcott back, but at home we should have too much for them.
cymrococh Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 they've been looking more like a side with adebayor, fabregas and walcott back, but at home we should have too much for them.Think it's time for a slight change in emphasis for us, keep it solid at the back and we will get a chance against whatever makeshift defence they put out.
Eiler99 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Molby said yesterday on Danish tv that he had talked to Gerrard and that he wasn't sure he'd be fit for Arsenal.
Beardsley Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 This is the game I dread most of our run in. Arsenal have started to play some good footy again, and even though we're not too shabby ourself I think they'll give us a good run for our money. If we can overcome them I think we'll win the league.
DanielS Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Molby said yesterday on Danish tv that he had talked to Gerrard and that he wasn't sure he'd be fit for Arsenal. Very likely he won't be. The fat b*****d would need to lose about 12 stone and that's impossible in a week.
Eiler99 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) Very likely he won't be. The fat b*****d would need to lose about 12 stone and that's impossible in a week. Quality. Imagine Xabi and Molby in the same midfield though. Arsenal wouldn't get near the ball for 90 minutes. Edited April 15, 2009 by Eiler99
richwilks Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 This is the one game I could see us dropping points in. Hope that's not the case. If we do win it then we have a real chance of winning the league because I am sure Utd will drop points against them and Man City.

Sion Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 arsenal play chelsea on the saturday evening, that could be a big boost for us, especially as there's a chance it could go to ET. Wenger could see our game as a dead rubber, and not play as strong a team seeing as it's only a few days after (more of a chance of that if they're still in the CL, which is likely) Although he'll probably play his strongest side vs us, then his ''kids'' vs united in a few weeks. Seriously how sickening would it be if we won all our games, and still didn't win the league.
CarraLegend Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 A night game at Anfield we need to win? Theyve no chance, last season apart where we played the first half with 10men because Torres couldnt run (And Voronin and Dirk didnt help, nor did Alonso going off) we've completely outclassed them everytime theyve been here in the league, Rafa has them sussed. A high tempo, fired up crowd, they wont handle it especially as the game will be pretty meaningless for them anyway. The mancs are easier to play against than us so their pretty football might work against them, or maybe im deluding myself.
Sion Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 If we do win it then we have a real chance of winning the league because I am sure Utd will drop points against them and Man City. Problem is united will more than likely win their next 2 (unless wobbly face pulls off another OT robbery like he has in the past) then they've only got 5 games left and they'll feel like they're practically there - which will give them a huge boost. I'm actually more hopeful they'll drop points away to Boro and Wigan than at home to City or Arsenal
MFletcher Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I expect them to drop points away to Boro - they'll be fighting for survival and routinely 'up their game' against the bigger sides. Unfortunately I just can't see where else the dropped points are coming from. If United get through the Arsenal/City at home, Boro/Wigan away run with three wins then they're more or less there I think.
Farmer's Tan Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) we're going to f'ing muller them,no way they will live with us when we get the bit between out teeth, and the most important thing is the team believe it and know they are going to win. 18 pionts from 18 is what i'm almost positive we are going to pick up. Edited April 15, 2009 by Farmer's tan
yellow jumper Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i think adebayor's a threat to our defence, as are walcott and arshavin, but expect us to have enough in midfield and up top to win. assuming our best xi are picked and play anything like.
allez les rouges Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 the champs league match at anfield between the two sides showed me what arsenal are capable off. For the first 30 mins we couldnt live with them. It was some of the best football I have ever seen played. Although It became obvious that the tempo of the game that the started with was impossible to maintain. But if they play like that, and also like the did at anfield in the league, then its going to be a very very difficult game.
budgie Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Seriously how sickening would it be if we won all our games, and still didn't win the league. To be honest if we don't win it I'd be reasonably content with that. t would be a huge boost for us for next year to finish like that.
Zoob Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 We have an excellent record at home to Arsenal, and although they're on form and have some dangerous players, we're even more on form (4 or more goals in 5 out of our last 7 games I think) and their defence is a mess. West Ham away looks our trickiest fixture, particularly considering our horrible record down there.
stressederic Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) I've just been looking at our recent results. In the 8 games since we lost to Boro we've scored 25 goals and conceded 8 (7 of those against Chelsea). That's insane. Edited April 15, 2009 by stressederic

It's the only one I am worried about but the way we've been playing I think we'll win and I think goal difference may be enough to win the title.
