BG Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Yossi can be incredibly frustrating at times - the touch too many, the flicks, the (sometimes) weak shooting etc - but I think he's really come on a lot this season. When he plays right mid now he seems to work incredibly hard - almost like Dirk. Add that to the better bits of his game - ability to pick a pass, beats a man, scores the odd goal - and he looks like a very good player. For all his limitations, at the start of the season Kuyt was a shoe-in for first choice in that position. I'm not so sure now: I'd quite like Yossi to get a run there.
carrafan Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 (edited) Think Kuyt has improved a lot himself in that position. Last season he was all about work rate and providing an aerial threat against the opposition fullback. This season though, his movement has improved a lot, so has his first touch which can actually be trusted and he gets into the box often which he couldnt last year. Not dissing Benayoun though, who probably has the best movement of anyone in our squad and a great player to play anywhere behind the front man. Edited April 11, 2009 by carrafan
Falconhoof Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I still think we'd be better served keeping Dirk on the right and using Yossi in the Gerrard position when we rest SG.
