That's what Champions do. If they had lost that game we would have won the league, I am certain of that. Great recovery but it's still on.

I'd forgotten what this is like !!!!!!

Yeah and to be fair, did anyone really expect them to get anything other than 3 points against a poor Villa side who have as little game intelligence as anyone in the league?

They're still going to bed tonight thinking "We barely beat em, Liverpool crushed em."

The fact that they needed 93 minutes and three goals to beat a p*ss-poor Villa side speaks volumes.

There's no sour grapes in that statement and it was a fantastic finish from the the young lad who scored the winner but I'm hugely encouraged by their performance - or lack of it.

Don't think that their frailties haven't been noticed by the managers of teams they're yet to play.

GAME ON!

There is nothing we can do about their results, we just got to keep plugging away and keep getting the wins. One game at a time, I'm not sure which is the more important game coming up, Chelsea or Blackburn.

They where there for the taking today, makeshift defence but Villa who`s defence was terrible.

Glad we kept Xabi as Barry was sh**e.

Cardinal sin by Villa today by laying too low after they went up 1-2, giving uniteds midfield far too much time on the ball. You are going to have a very tough time if you do that. Not very good tactic by MON, was it.

We have to believe they are a drowning man and they wont keep coming back up if we keep the pressure up

Now notice how he acts. He begins to struggle in a frantic way and sinks, takes a mouthful of water into his lungs, rises crazy with fear, grabs at everything about him, expels a little of the air remaining in his lungs, goes down for another breath of water, comes up utterly insane, and repeats the going down and coming up until his lungs are pretty well filled with water. Then he sinks to stay. His sinkings are very slow, and he does not at first go far below the surface. He probably rises three or four times before he finally goes down.

Im surprised that people and most pundit rate O Neill and Harry Redknapp that highly. They arent good enough to shine Rafa's boots.

I know..

"They know how to motivate players - arm around the shoulder and all that b****x etc.."

I dont think it was a game for them to slip up in as Villa are sh*t to the core. Its just the manner in which they won it. If they'd lost or drawn the doubts would have started creeping in.

Not sure they will now. Can't really see them slipping up.

Every game at this stage of the season is difficult and a mental mountain to overcome, teams with something to lose are playing against their own fears and insecurities as much as the quality of the opposition. Our job is to transfer the pressure we may be under onto Man Utd as much as possible, Rafa has it right when he says we just have to keep asking the questions and we're playing first a fair bit

Exactly, pretty impressive by the mancs.

still, there's still a glimmer of hope. but i still believe we lost it in jan/feb.

I reckon Utd will win it now. This game will be a huge boost for their confidence. If they'd lost then the title was definitely ours.

Dont be so defeatist, they still have a few difficult games and I dont expect them to steamroller any team from now to the end of the season if we crank on the pressure. We have an early kick off next week, if we win that then its back onto them isnt it. They looked like cracking today, I think its only a matter of time to see when they crack again.

What gives me confidence is that there isn't long to go, not many games left. May sound perverse, but any f*** up now and there is next to no time or chance to recover it, Utd can only really afford one draw

I think they'll win it as well. Over this last 10 game period, we need to better 2 of their results to win the league and this was a great chance for one of those to happen. I cant see us winning all our games till the end as well, and maybe united need to drop points in like 3 games. 8 to go, getting them to drop points in 3 will be tough. Still interesting though.

They were fecking very ordinary, air of invincibility gone with the thrashing from us. Hopefully, they'll come up against one or two teams with more bottle (and nous) than Villa before the season's finished.

Why not, only seven games to go? We did the same in 2006. We're playing well, not conceding or giving up many chances, and at the other end we are making a lot of chances, we are not playing like a team under massive pressure or struggling to find our best.

Man Utd are shipping goals and suddenly look vulnerable to the rest of the league, every manager can now see that you can get at them which is a far cry from the untouchable nonsense that was being spouted a few weeks back, winning six out or their last eight will not be enough for them and they know it.

Not the time for that right now, is it? Now is the time for bloody minded belief, 100% certainty and support, and Rafa-like balls of steel!

I find turning 1-2 to 3-2, whilst playing s***, pretty impressive. A loss for them and things would be quite different.
