surf Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Completely battered Fulham all the way through, could have had a handful in the first half. Looked like it wasn't going to be our day in the second half when everything appeared to be against us. It looked like one of those days: hit the woodwork 4 times, loads of opportunities that were somehow kept out, poor decisions by the officials to unfairly rule Kuyt offside and blow for a foul on Reina when Torres was clean through. And when all our huffing and puffing looked to be in vain, when it was "one of thos days" up steps little Benny to score in the last minute of injury time. You can bet the Mancs were watching that. You can bet just, they were ready to gloat and celebrate another title when that goal went in and it's like a punch in the stomach. This is a massive result, the kind of game that turns titles. Perhaps they're starting to feel it's not their year. Perhaps they're starting to doubt. They're certainly going to feel the pressure to win their games in hand. COME ON YOU REDS!
bazz Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Come on Villa tomorrow!!! United to drop points again and to really get the shakes while the Red Army marches on....
Nebraska Red Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 in some ways a win like this is better than a 6-0 thumping. it really gets the players psyched up and the fans will be pumped up as well. we showed today that despite a ton of poor luck and poor finishing, we were never prepared to give up. if I was a Fulham fan, i'd be disgusted with my team for the way they played today.
Farmer's Tan Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 it's great isn't it,every game in massive now till the end of season, tension, excitement might explode if united drop points tomorrow.well done yossi, you f'ing beauty!!!
Earl Hafler Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I'm exhausted after that. Thought we'd missed a chance Glad A@A was right about Benny
sean Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 We're in this now!! My neighbours would have ALL heard me roar at the finish!!
surf Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 man u are missing many a player for tomorrow, villa aren't rubbish and are a good countering side. could be interesting
Bootle Buck Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 It was a wierd game. One you kept expecting us to score in then all of a sudden we looked like we had blown it again only for another late winner. Fulham were never in it yet at 0-0 you just never knew. Thank God for Yossi's winner.
Rahul Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Unbelievable finish. One of the most frustrating games of recent times before that along with the away game to City a season or two back when we were all over them too. F*cking get in!!!
Ethan Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I was dead calm up until the 85th minute and I went completely to pieces lol Damn near wrecked myself on the coffee table when Yossi scored. That is a savage kick in the balls to Fergie right there
Snookie Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus, jebus I'm exhausted Edited April 4, 2009 by Snookie
KD07 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 That is a savage kick in the balls to Fergie right there Liking the mental image!
surf Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 if we go on to win the league this game will be seen as a defining moment, it was THAT big
Magic8Ball Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 That sort of win will put us in good stead for the Arsenal game - win all our games, win the league
smithdown Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Was just rationalising how a point wouldn't have been such a bad result and we'd still go top and there's still plen... GOAL!!!!!!
surf Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 Was just rationalising how a point wouldn't have been such a bad result and we'd still go top and there's still plen... GOAL!!!!!! i was thinking that a point would have been title over. we can't expect the mancs to drop points in three games AND win all our remaining games
Farmer's Tan Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Was just rationalising how a point wouldn't have been such a bad result and we'd still go top and there's still plen... GOAL!!!!!! tbh it really is s*** or bust time now, draws are practically useless now.
D.Boon Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I like everyoine thought it was over. I was frustrated that we had done almost everything right and werent going to get all 3 points. I was hoping to have seen Benny on for Kuyt at the same time as the Babel sub as Kuyt had been rubbish but the little man had enough time to do the business. That was a great, great moment.
D.Boon Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 We're in this now!! My neighbours would have ALL heard me roar at the finish!! And mine. I hope they know my cries were footy related!SHouting like a madman
New York Red Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I just went onto Red Cafe for the first time. They are in meltdown mode over there. It's f*cking hysterical.
