Benayoun: made the difference

Alonso: every time the ball came to him you knew a crisp first touch pass was coming

Gerrard: not the best game he's ever had but a constant menace - 2 great crosses that deserved to be finished

 

Thought Reina was absolute class, caught everything. Had Torres' first half shot gone the other side of the post or he'd manage to connect with Stevie's cross we'd have been praising him yet again.

Really impressed with the Doss over the last month. He's got dog's abuse and yet you can see he has heart and so much pride. Its in some ways the story of the season. Aurelio wasn't good enough earlier in the season and yet he's been exceptional for the last while. Last year, Kuyt was according to some the worst player we have ever had. This year he has been exceptional. The negative view; it says everything about modern fandom. The positive; it proves beyond doubt that Rafa has re-established the mentality you expect of a Liverpool team. They never hide, they always try, they never give up.
