anny road Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 is that he has completley bought into the ethos of our club He playes with a pride and passion that would suggest he is from Merseyside not Madrid.... We have had a few of them in the past, players not even from these shores who know waht it means to play for the club I may be naive.....but I can see him playing for us for years and then returning to Atletico....I cannot imagine anotehr club giving him what he obviously craves....which is a club that means something more than mere profit and bums on seats, and a set of fans that completley adore him i get the feeling he hates United as much as Gerrard or Carra....when he did the five finger salute today, I welled up.... he loves us, and the feeling is completley mutual LEGEND
carrafan Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 He should do what Carra did and just retire from the national side.
Malcolm X Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I posted this on another thread but i'll post it on here as it is more appropriate here. Someone on here said a while back that if Torres had been available to us all season we would have been at least 5 points better off. That argument was quickly shot down. I think the last two games have shown how crucial Torres is to our chances of silverware what a difference a fit Torres would have made to our title chances and our position in the league. The strange thing is he is still not fully fit.
carrafan Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 The strange thing is he is still not fully fit. Was he on injections today for his ankle?

He was very close to his grandfather, who loved Atletico, and that pride and passion is clearly visible in him. I was very close to mine and what he and his generation sacrificed for us - i absolutely loathe the disrespect shown by the younger generation towards our elders. See it on the train all the time. Anyway, Torres was born to play here
Malcolm X Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Was he on injections today for his ankle? I think he was which is why he started struggling after an hour.
Gravy Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 He is that good you get butterflies watching him on the pitch. What a player - I mean, WHAT A PLAYER!!
CarraLegend Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I think he was which is why he started struggling after an hour. He wasnt apparently, the struggling was probably to do with the 37 kicks from Anderson (how did this useless t*** not get a card?) and f*** knows how many more by other selected yard dogs from their team.
anny road Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 I think he was which is why he started struggling after an hour. they said during the commentary that he wasnt but I saw him getting an ice pack
alias75 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/85424381...53%2c85028698|0 He's either a Trekkie or that's 5 times! Edited March 14, 2009 by alias75
stressederic Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 He should do what Carra did and just retire from the national side. As annoying as it is when Torres goes away with Spain and returns with an injury, I wouldn't actually want him to quit international football. I think the successes of Spain are good for him. Also I think (unlike most of the England team) playing for his country is not an ego thing for Torres, it's part of his drive and desire.
anny road Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 i love him and want to bum him senseless
BDB Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 He's just amazing... And seems so centered. It's brill that he plays for us.
Spike Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Still not convinced tbh on my Fifa 09 game he scores about 7 every game and he's yet to show that form for us yet
Barnesy_10 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 he's f***ing quality.... best striker in the world no doubt about it. Gerrard adores him as much as the rest of us. He knows what LFC is all about...
New York Red Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 He's f*cking awesome. He's exactly the type a player we need. He's been woth every penny. Think about it. Riera, Pennant, Dossena = one Nando Would you buy another Nando or keep that lot?
Ed the Wool Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 He's getting better as well I think, he's showing more aggression, power and speed the last couple of games and he was f***ing mind blowing before. He and Gerrard are as good as Dalglish and Rush in their heyday, and I never thought I'd say that. We just need 5 or 6 years of it and a boat load of trophies now.
Barnesy_10 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I love the way he can be a little f***** as well... winding up players, giving opposition players a bit of s***.

nashman Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Someone on here said a while back that if Torres had been available to us all season we would have been at least 5 points better off. I am surprised people disagreed with that. Even mancs agree that this years title race would have been close with a fully fit torres. Edited March 15, 2009 by nashman
Dmitch Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Hey no one dis the Dos... two goals in two games..... But i think its safe to say we ALL Love Torres and i would go gay for him!
Jonesy Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I am surprised people disagreed with that. Even mancs agree that this years title race would have been close with a fully fit torres. dream land son!! dream land.............a fully fit torres and we'd of pissed the league
