abc Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Is that other teams have watched and realised that the Mancs are there for the taking. We weren't fantastic I didn't think. What we did was at the right moments commit men forward and attack the right spaces, with belief and conviction. Chase balls down even when it's a 30/70 - you never know what might happen. I watched the Utd - Blackburn game a few weeks ago, and Blackburn were a bit unlucky not to take anything out of the game. If Pedersen decided to stay on his feet and use his right foot to shoot, it might have been 2-2. This whole notion of them being invincible since December is media hype. Lets hope they implode. Pity they will probably go on and win it though.
Herbie von Smalls Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 stevie g has said similar in his post-match interview.
Zoob Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Being without Vidic for 3 games could potentially hurt them a lot. And goal difference between us has gone from Utd being 11 better, to just 5. If we're not going to win the league I'd almost rather we finish 8-10 pts behind United then end up 4-6 points behind, thinking of what could have been if we'd beaten stoke, or held on to our leads against Wigan or Everton..,
Maldini Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I've been saying it for months, they're not playing well, they've been winning by the odd goal nearly every week. If they do win the league they'll be the worst side to win it in a long long time.
smithdown Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 As far as them there mind games are concerned, the horse-sp*nk fancier didn't even come out to do his post match interview. Not that sky commented on it, mind. He BOTTLED IT!
psl Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Certainly no need to fear drawing them in the Champions League.

smithdown Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 didn't he? hahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sky extended the programme, were obviously trying or waiting, and were waffling and filling time but he didn't come out. they didn't mention it once though, just kept prattling on Bottler la
Ed the Wool Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 My biggest wish it to win it, putting us out of touch by two titles, and forcing Ferguson to either retire defeated in his quest for our record, or go on too long and face further humiliation. And then beat them in Rome to rub it in some more.
McBain Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Being without Vidic for 3 games could potentially hurt them a lot. And goal difference between us has gone from Utd being 11 better, to just 5. One game for a professional foul isn't it?
stressederic Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 One game for a professional foul isn't it? Think as it was a straight red it's 3 matches.
abc Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 Straight red = 3 matches.2 yellows = 1 match. I'm pretty sure...
lfc4eva99 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Straight red = 3 matches.2 yellows = 1 match. I'm pretty sure... is correct.
FirstDescent Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 just hope we can build on this week. the drop is far if we happen to lose points in the next game.
Pam Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Rafa repeated the bit about other teams seeing that Utd can be beaten too - bit of a theme developing! United have not been playing that well but other teams don't seem to believe they can beat them - a myth perpetuated by the sycophantic media with their constant drivel about how United are the best team in the history of football on this or any other planet! You never know somebody else might actually have the bad manners to beat them too over the next few weeks.......
kop205 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Straight red = 3 matches.2 yellows = 1 match. I'm pretty sure... Pretty sure that 3 matches is for violent conduct or serious foul play. Though as it is his second red of the season does that maybe increase the ban?
fred milne Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Being without Vidic for 3 games could potentially hurt them a lot.He looked shell-shocked by the end - Torres and Gerrard taking it in turns to run him ragged. Sent off against us twice in one season. Quality.
Chili Palmer Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) He looked shell-shocked by the end - Torres and Gerrard taking it in turns to run him ragged. Sion Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Straight red = 3 matches.2 yellows = 1 match. I'm pretty sure... It's definitely a one game ban
Magic8Ball Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I'm telling you, a fit Gerrard and Torres would win this league by themselves, an absolute dream pairing. They'd still need decent wingers and the best midfield in the world
Zoob Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I'm telling you, a fit Gerrard and Torres would win this league by themselves, an absolute dream pairing. Really says a lot about how good those 2 are that I imagine we could well have been 10+ points better off had Torres and Gerrard both stayed fit all season
Zoob Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 It's definitely a one game ban d'oh - I think you're right. straigt red only gets 3 game ban if it's for violent conduct or 'serious foul play'. What is the difference between a professional foul and serious foul play? Vidic was making no attempt to play the ball, so does that make it serious foul play?

Not sure if this is correct, but I thought you received an extra game ban if you have been sent off more than once. Therefore, misses two games.
Falconhoof Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Really says a lot about how good those 2 are that I imagine we could well have been 10+ points better off had Torres and Gerrard both stayed fit all season Or if we'd had proper backup for Torres, say a Tevez on loan or an Eduardo (without the leg break obviously)
