Herbie von Smalls Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Rafael Benitez. This result might be too little too late for our title aspirations - let's hope not - but not only has it been an achievement to do the double over man utd and chelsea, but it was a great personal victory for our manager over ferguson after all the pre-match bluster from the utd boss through/and the media about the 'Rafa rant'. Great win, great week. Now let's watch our team win every match left this season. We've finished seasons with that kind of run in the past.
Gerrardrules Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Just received two aces from the dealer in his game of poker with the american clowns.
Bootle Buck Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Maybe the muppets will give him what he wants now!

If there's anything we should hope for today it's that other teams will learn how to put Utd to the sword !!!
Paisley Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Here, here - Well in Rafa! Now get that contract sorted and signed.

It was very satisfying watching Rafa look more and more relaxed as Ceramics (I'm sure they called him that on the commentary) chewed his gum faster and faster.
Billy Dane Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Wonder if the media are starting to think that Rafa does know what he's doing after all?
Herbie von Smalls Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) edit: doh! nothing like repeating a point you've already made Edited March 14, 2009 by Herbie von Smalls
David Hodgson Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I'm most pleased for Lfc and all who sail in her.
Conor Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Give Rafa what he wants. When he wants it. He is the future of this club. If we let him go we should be absolutely ashamed of ourselves. He has every other team in Europe hoping he leaves Liverpool because they are scared. They realise he is about to dominate.
smithdown Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I think Andy Gray was spot on when he said that Rafa had picked the wrong team and the wrong formation and had the wrong game plan. I just don't really understand what he is trying to do.

smithdown Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Exactly - get Andy Gray in as manager with Keys as his number 2. And we need more empty seats. Feckin rows and rows and rows of empty seats. WHole sections with just a dozen fatties who can't get out. Forty or fifty thousands of empty feckin seats.

Chili Palmer Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I thought all on Sky were very complimentary about us today. So they should be. Ince was decent, called it right I thought.
Maldini Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 F*cking sick of Rafa being cautious, lucky and making his subs exactly on the 60th 65th 67th minute mark.
pipnasty Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 You have to play with at leat 2 up fron to win a match - I thought everybody knew this? 2 up front to win, 3 up front to win well and 4 up front for a good thrashing. It's not difficult really.

FirstDescent Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 sometimes i wish we had gray and all them on norwegian telly. those we got are usually quite alright :/
Dominus Maximus Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 We have Claus Thomsen (Ex-Everton) and Jacob Laursen (ex-Derby) both of them are always fair. they give us stick when we lose to Boro away, and praise when we win, as it should be. Peter Schemichel is on our CL-coverage and he is worse than Keys and Gray, but to be fair he did play there for a couple of years.
psl Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Ferguson thinks the Mancs were the better side - http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...5050527,00.html "It is a hard one to take because I felt we were the better team," he said. "That is not reflected in the scoreline and quite rightly, when you win 4-1 you get all the plaudits. I can't deny that."
Hassony Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Ince was decent, called it right I thought. who was Ince supporting?
Molby Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 we watched it on the Norwegian and it was IN Norwegian it's the way to go if you want to avoid the muppetry (unless you're Norwegian and the commentators and punters are muppets, but I wouldn't know about that)

Magnanimous and Taggart are not obvious bed fellows.
