floyd the barber Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) simply superb.....we`ve seen great 45 mins.....and pure domination at times..But tonight we were superb the whole 90 mins....every player fantastic!!! Rafa is simply a genius in europe........we made a decent team look awful!! What a fantastic night! Getttinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Edited March 10, 2009 by Lets get Masched
Tommy Cockles Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Madrid were poor. It needs to be said. And now it has been, credit to us for a great performance.
JonShar Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 At the end of the game I was on my feet clapping my hands and shaking my head. Quite simply a stunning performance, with the perfect balance of attack, defence, skill, and physical strength. Bloody brilliant.
smithdown Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 As good a performance as I've seen from anyone for ages, bar maybe Barcelona, maybe.
Keita Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Was thinking this myself, I couldn't think what our best performance under Rafa was but this must be.
Falconhoof Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 It looked so easy at times. We were magnificent but it wasn't our hardest opponent. Chelsea in 05 and even Roma in the UEFA under GH tested us more at Anfield.
BDB Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Coming back into work, with a beam on my face. Phenomenal play.. Great Show all
madaboutlfc Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 i wouldnt say its just the greatest under Rafa.. Id say this is the greatest since the Forest one because we were against a top team here and could have won 10 or 12 nil
surf Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 first half we played them off the parkthe '2-0' second half doesn't reflect the half though, madrid could have had a couple. still a fantastic overall performance

Archangel Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Please please please can we please play like that in the league, unleashed fearless brilliance

That sort of urgency and ruthlessness. We were inspired tonght which we have rarely been in the league this year. Frustrating.
Falconhoof Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I wouldn't want us to be injecting Torres with painkillers every week. Thats the sort of thing we'd need with our curent squad. Until we can field 2 alternative very good teams then we'll struggle to keep pace with the mancs in the league. Kuwaitis, if you are re ading, give Rafa a better warchest and he'll knock the mancs off their f***ing perch.

I cant think of many since the forest 5-0 where we dominated and controlled the play so well over the entire game......

Hats off to them all.
Rimbeux Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 f***ing brilliant, we're are big game boys and that was brutal. Never seen Torres so intense.
alias75 Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 do the crowd on these Anfield European nights make the difference?
David Hodgson Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 just unbelievable. Just back from the..... Can we just abandon domestic competition and play in both the CL and Uefa cup ?
MFletcher Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I can't believe that match. That could have been ten. Against Real Madrid. A form team who've won ten out of eleven La Liga matches. We treated them with complete disdain, slapping them about at will and not looking remotely bothered in the second half. Seriously, this is Real Madrid we're talking about. Real Madrid. And we've humiliated them with complete ease. Brilliant.
pipnasty Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 The whole thing was about as good as it gets over a two legged European tie. Home and away we were brilliant.
