Running a City Centre Bar

A little vacant bar has come up to let in the city centre and me and a few mates are toying with the idea of taking the lease up for a year. Not looking to make any money out of it really, just cover our costs for the first year and see how it goes.

I know a few people on here are in the game, and there may be a few others as well. Was just wondering what others costs we should expect aside from the rent (which isn't too bad). Are business rates ridiculous? Sky? Electricity? Is there anything we might not have thought of that takes alot of money away?

How much money should we be looking to get together as 'start up costs'? And are we insane?
