meredithmathieson Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 As he came on to the pitch as a sub. Absolutely disgraceful. Unbelievable. These people are not supporters in any sense of the word. So, the team get booed off after going top of the league against West Ham, and now players in a red shirt get booed coming on to the pitch.
Paul Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I hope it was only a few idiots, bang out of order that.
carrafan Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 The atmosphere at Anfield has been deteriorating continuously for a few years now. I cant point my finger as to why. OOT's?Rising season ticket prices making more fans wanting to be 'entertained' for the money they pay?The media getting into their mind? The results? Could be a bit of these but there have to be some more reasons. We play even tighter in European games (but get the results) and usually see a cracking atmosphere in those.
Hieronymus Bosch Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Was shocking. But can only see such incidents becoming more commonplace over time, unfortunately.
Pam Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I'd love to know what is going through the mind of a supposed liverpool fan who thinks booing one of our own players is a good idea? Is it meant to encourage them to play better???? Or is it just the final nail in the coffin of our reputation as "most knowlegeable fans" in the game? If you don't like the player/substitution don't clap but booing is the most stupid & moronic thing to do. Idiots should be ashamed of themselves.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 didn't hear it myself, but that's a disgrace if true. Should bar the c**** from the ground
suzyv Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I was ashamed these arnt liverpool supporters they are sheep they should all just go baa. I even had somebody by me clapping the chelsea score when I asked him why he said because They have a chance of catching manu. he could not explain why if we have the same points as chelsea and have played the same games we dont have a chance must have been watching sky sports at the weekend as this is their view .
Redwire Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I hope it was only a few idiots, bang out of order that. It was too f*cking many. We have some right pricks "supporting" us.
Hieronymus Bosch Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 It was too f*cking many. We have some right pricks "supporting" us.There's no reason to believe that Liverpool is exempt from the Sky generation.
allawee Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Strange paradox... Cisse was applauded when he came on (which I think is a nice gesture and rightly so for his contribution when he played for us) although he is not our player any more and Lucas gets booed..truly sad!

Hector McDougal Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Came across quite clearly on the setanta stream I was watching. Pretty low behavior from some of our fans. Feel sorry for Lucas. Not the greatest player to have played for us but being booed isn't going to help him.

Not the greatest player to have played for us but being booed isn't going to help him. Was also watching it on setanta and it seemed really loud.. now i was annoyed at Rafa for bringing n`gog off. who after his goal...looked full of confidence and possibly capable of another goal.......so i didnt want lucas to come on especially as it killed the game for me...and made us settle for 2-0.. ANYWAY..still with all the above....no Reds player should ever be booed when coming on as a sub or starting...
Cunny Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 My seat is in block 106 of the kop and heard no booing when he came on

nrkintheuk Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Was quite a few near me (kop 103) giving him s*** when rafa called him back from his warm up. Booing was fairly loud & clear when he came on - tossers. He did alright when he came on too which is all credit to him. Noticed a fair few people making a particular point to clap everything he did loudly, glad not everybody has lost the plot!
Zoob Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Am absolutely disgusted to read about this. 22 year old who has had a few bad moments, but never seems to lack commitment, never hides in games, and I believe still has the potential to be a very good player. WTF is booing him meant to achieve?
Beardsley Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 (edited) He had one bad pass today. Not many of our CM's can show the same accuracy. Hope those who boo him get a well deserved flogging while in the stands. There's just NO way we should boo our own players. Edited March 3, 2009 by P_Neal
johngibo YPC Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) Absolute disgrace. I would ban every one of them c****. You could here it from my seat in the Upper Cenny, mainly coming from the Anny Road. I think they thought they were being funny. I hate loads of our fans at the moment. Probably Uppsala and his matesJust loads of negativity round today. Even when we were 2-0 up. Oh and he did fine when he came on. i bet some of our 'fans' are gutted Edited March 4, 2009 by johngibo YPC
