Hard to get up for this one but second place is a prize well worth playing for, particularly given the change in European qualification.

Carlsberg don't script Liverpool first halves, but if they did....

2nd place isn't THAT important. TOP 3 HOWEVER is MASSIVELY important. Unless we fancy facing someone like Seville or AC Milan in the new qualifying round think

same applies to the league.

2nd is massively important - no pre qualifier and boy we always f***ing make of meal of them so it'd be nice to have the extended summer break and no nerve biters.

no it doesn't. I was talking about prize money for the league, 100% of the prize money isn't split over only the top four places. or is it? (I think I'm talking on crossed wires to everyone else tbh)

 

anyway I think its a bit sad that fans of football clubs even now what the prizemoney is for winning, when I was growing up and falling in love with Liverpool I couldn't tell you what kinda money we were winning.

i thought this year it was 1,2,3 straight in. 4 goes into a new post-3rd round qual round, kind of a 4th qual round, where there's no seeding.

The prize money for the league is spread over the entire league ( i think)

 

The tv money for the CL is spread by nationality and depending on league position, with the top team getting something like 40%, then 30% then 20% then 10%. I'm not sure of the exact percentages, but i recall it being something like that.

 

Which means that finishing second in the league gets you 30% rather than 20%, which is half more. I don't think it means that the total money received for the CL is half more, cause there's also prize money to take into account, but finishing higher in the league is certainly significant.

No the script goes we have NO idea how to break down the sunderland defence, we run out of ideas after 20min.

And Rafa brings on Lucas and ryan bable with 20min left and it ends 0-0.
