CarraLegend Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Maybe longer by the look of it. Balague : Arbeloa has been less fortunate and the hamstring problem that he has been struggling with for a while now, let him down again at the Bernabeu. It looks like there may be a small tear in the muscle and he will spend the next three weeks in plaster. He may return to training in time for the trip to Old Trafford on March 14, but is clearly a doubt for that fixture. With Philipp Degen still injured, that means Jamie Carragher will continue to occupy the right back slot. http://www.guillembalague.com/rumores_desp...test&id=176 Hopefully Agger is fit for once so we dont look so short in defence now.
Sion Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Perfect time to experiement with 3 at the back now
Magic8Ball Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Perfect time to experiement with 3 at the back nowwell for most league games anyway
Bailo Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Perfect time to experiement with 3 at the back nowWe've got two good attacking LBs to cover that, but what about RB? I don't think wing-back really suits Carra.
Billy Dane Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Bit off the wall but Kuyt could probably do a shift at RB.
TheLa Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Just play Gerrard there and, with a little bit of luck, Richard Keys' head might explode.
Tones Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Not good news. We arent very well covered there although i tink Darby could step up for most games. Love the idea of Gerard there, imagine what Sky would make of that!
Hassony Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 can't Insua or Dossena play there? Finan used to be able to play on both sides
Molby Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Bit off the wall but Kuyt could probably do a shift at RB. wing back in a 5 man midfield except we need him up front unless we suddenly promote Pacheco or use Ngog and Babel again
lfc4eva99 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Agger / Hyypia with Skrtel and Carra at the back it would seem.
Tonto Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 can't Insua or Dossena play there? Finan used to be able to play on both sides I think the Finnan playing left back thing was a bit overstated. He played there for Ireland, a couple of times because of injuries and a few more times because Staunton seemed to have been befuddled when it came to his players' positions. He never really looked comfortable on the left. Having said that, he never looked 100% comfortable playing for Ireland under Kerr or Staunton.
Sion Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) This'll do -----------------Reina--------------------- ---------Carra---Agger---Skrtel--------- --Kuyt----------Masch-----------Aurelio ----------------Alonso---------------------- -------Benayoun------Gerrard------------ --------------Forward---------------- Edited February 27, 2009 by Sion
Hassony Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 PepeCarra Hyypia(if agger isn't fit) Skrtel Dossena Xabi MaschYossi Gerrard Babel Kuyt
Swagger Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 can't Insua or Dossena play there? Finan used to be able to play on both sides Dossena is struggling on the left - his natural position - yet you want him on the right?
Rory Fitzgerald Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 This'll do -----------------Reina--------------------- ---------Carra---Agger---Skrtel--------- --Kuyt----------Masch-----------Aurelio ----------------Alonso---------------------- -------Benayoun------Gerrard------------ --------------Forward---------------- My head nearly burst trying to get to grips with that formation.
Sion Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 My head nearly burst trying to get to grips with that formation. bursting with agreement? with excitement? it's a winning team.
Swipe Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Agger's not in squad for Boro game. But there's no mention of Arbeloa being injured on offal.
CarraLegend Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Agger's not in squad for Boro game. But there's no mention of Arbeloa being injured on offal. They never seem to mention a player when they first pick up an injury unless its Torres or Gerrard. Its annoying because when Agger keeps getting injured and no one knows the match threads on here and RAWK are full of beauts with the "Rafa is evil, Agger iz GOD!!11!!!!" "oh my!!!! were iz ager?" etc etc
ManxRed Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 [TerryWoganVoice] Ah, the old 3-3-1-2-1 formation! [\TerryWoganVoice]
Cunny Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 If Arbeloa is out, I guess it's a back four of Carra Skrtel Sami DossenaI'm sure Aurelio will be rested and back for the midweek game.
Beardsley Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Agger has a back problem, doesn't he? Think he's still out.
