Falconhoof Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Just how good Rafa is at this. To go there when Madrid are on one of the best runs of form in their history and with us struggling for confidence....you all know the rest. We had no right to win there tonight but yet again Rafa brings us through. He's made for this competition and the fact that Hicks and Gillet haven't sorted his contract by now and Parry has been scheming against him is a crime against our club.

The Muppets and Coco the Clown are a fecking disgrace. i honestly think we are probably the team most others will want to avoid in the CL, especially when we have Stevie and Nando firing on all cylinders. Rafa is like a chess master and the CL is his game.
Falconhoof Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 Bring on Man U. I want Rafa to knock them out.

Rafa is peerless in europe. I thought we might struggle tonight but as the match went on we became stronger and stronger. We have a decent chance of winning this cup now although there is a long way to go.
dalennie Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Here's a stat.. Liverpool beat Real Madrid 1-0 1981. Goal scored 82 minsLiverpool beat Real Madrid 1-0 2009. Goal scored 82 mins Should have went the bookies
Earl Hafler Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Excellent result - would have been happy with a draw and it's great to see Benny continue his good form.
D.Boon Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I really enjoyed the interview with him talking about his younger days, he is a cracking bloke when relaxed. Although he frutrstes the hell out of me sometimes i would be very sad to see him leave.
surf Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Madrid are ordinary though, Andy Gray told me. Fantastic performance by us tonight, Rafa really gets the best of the team on nights like these. Best manager in the competition.
JRC Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Madrid are ordinary though, Andy Gray told me.Worse than ordinary - he couldn't believe how bad they were! Heaven forfend it should have anything to do with us playing well.
Earl Hafler Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Madrid are ordinary though, Andy Gray told me. And what does that make Inter Milan ?!! Sky are more boring than i am
Nebraska Red Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 so, no respect for us when we win. what a shock!!!
stonty Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Their keeper made meal of Xabi's effort & the marking was awful for Yossi's goal, Andy Gray said so ........the bitter blue nose t***
Stevie H Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 man the changes he made at half time were superb. they had nothing second half, we killed them. great management.
allawee Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Their keeper made meal of Xabi's effort & the marking was awful for Yossi's goal, Andy Gray said so ........the bitter blue nose t***Well, it gets better....I usually don't watch -You are on Sky Sport-, but if Gray and Keys are bad, then Gary Newbon and Peter Beagrie ABSOLUTELY SUCK! shocking s**** tv at its worst!
lawrie Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Well, it gets better....I usually don't watch -You are on Sky Sport-, but if Gray and Keys are bad, then Gary Newbon and Peter Beagrie ABSOLUTELY SUCK! shocking s**** tv at its worst!True, and how bad are the supposed Liverpool fans still calling in and asking for Rafa's head minutes after beating Real Madrid...
MFletcher Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 They've won nine consecutive games and thumped six past Betis in the first half at the weekend. We made them look like a side who were devoid of confidence. They resorted to passing it to Robben and hoping he'd do something. We were f***ing brilliant in that match, and we did it with a half-injured Torres and a five minute cameo from Gerrard. I thought we'd win, but that's only because I have total faith in Rafa. He must be signed up. Immediately. How we can countenance losing a man who is capable of masterminding victories in the Camp Nou, Bernabeu, San Siro and Stamford Bridge in the last two years alone I don't know.
Maldini Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 One of these days people will realise that we're pretty much the best team in the Champions League. I'd have us as favourites to beat any team over two legs.

Although he frutrstes the hell out of me sometimes i would be very sad to see him leave. I quite agree. Mind you. even the nicest, kindest, wisest person on the planet, while under pressure managing us, would seem like a twitchy nutty mess.

£440,000 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Mascherano-Xabi, perfectos. Es difícil imaginar en el mundo una mejor pareja de mediocentros. El argentino y el español sujetaron a su equipo y no dejaron ni un hueco al Madrid. That's from Marca. Nice to see someone else singing their praises.
Archangel Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Its a terrific result and credit to the discipline of the team as well as the resillience of Benitez, just one minor point of caution before it gets out of hand, its only half way through the tie, though I do think Madrid are broken

Gilps Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Nice to see someone else singing their praises. I'm sure it is, if you know what it means. Any chance of a translation?

stressederic Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 It's almost getting daft now. If we go on to knock Real out of the European Cup, who the hell is left that Rafa hasn't beaten? I think a lot of the "Madrid look ordinary/rubbish/etc" stuff comes from the fact that we make it looks so ridiculously easy against these teams in Europe.
