IT'S OFF!!!!

our league challenge is over but we did really well in the league this season.

Much better overall from us but still not quite there.... let the people who are calling for rafas head to relax, we're getting closer each year.

Too many draws at home against the poor sides. No excuses for that

plenty in fact..

Rick Parry, G+H, Money, Dossena, Robbie Keane, etc

The fact is we've been pretty ordinary most of the season. Nicked a few wins earlier on the season, that and the Mancs starting more slowly than usual and Arsenal and Chelsea having crap seasons, have kept us closer than we have deserved.

Never really thought it was ever "on"

Well maybe not, but if the manager is responsible for bringing them here what does that say about him?

it says he hasnt got a lot of money to spend

It says his judgement is questionable

He spent 30 million in the summer 20 mil on a player we have sold already, 8 million on a sunday league FB, 4m on Riera who has gone down hill quicker than Franz Klammer and Degen who is worse than Kewell. To make matters worse he was trying to offload our best midfielder this season to Juve in the summer.

Or was it all Rick Parry's fault.

I don't think too many fans genuinely believed we would, never mind could, win it. And I reckon that seeped through in our lacklustre support to the players at times.

Valid point. Rafa isn't God and therefore isn't immune to criticism. A good summer's spending how much closer to the Mancs could we have been?

The Mancs have been ordinary for a lot of the season. A rock hard defence no doubt, but they've not been what they were last year.

If we'd bought the players we really needed instead of wasting almost all our money last summer we can conceivably be ahead of them now.

But it's all guesswork.

Arguable.

Last year too many home draws killed us.

This year even more home draws have killed us.

Has he learnt?

How do those above factors justify 6 points from Stoke, Hull, West Ham, Everton, Fulham and City at Anfield?

Even a team consisting of 6 average players should be putting Stoke, Hull, West Ham, Fulham etc to the sword at home.

As for not a lot of money, Dossena, Lucas and Keane = £34m.

What a world class return we've seen from that trio.

Too many average players I'm afraid.

The best manager in the world can't fix that.

you reckon?

do you think we'd do better or worse if ferguson was our manager?

I know loads dont like him, but if we had a chance of getting Mourinho in the summer, i'd take it in a heartbeat.

I genuinely think he'd win the title with us. He gets the best out of what he has to work with and in those circumstances, we have a squad capable of winning the title.

Most thought Keane would be a great signing, Riera has indeed gone downhill but I still hold out hope for Dossena. How can you bring Degan into the discussion though?

We shipped out Steve Finnan and replaced him with the invisable man. In his 6 months at the club he has probably earned 500,000 pound in wages. I doubt if the fecker will ever play a game for us. How was he strengthning our team?
