Did anyone else think Phil Dowd was extremely poor today. Seemed to let them off with a lot of bad challenges and then pull us up for the same thing moments later.

Kompany should have been sent off. United got the dodgy decisions yesterday in their favour, and again today. No wonder it's so hard to win this league

He s*** out of sending Kompany off, had the card out then realised he'd already been booked then he wandered around for 15 seconds before deciding to book El Zhar. Should have had a peno for Dunne's handball as well.

Exactly. Cowards.

Regardless of his decision, he was going to get stick from one side or the other. Should've been a red, but wasn't. Wouldn't have won us the game, though. That's up to our players.

A vile display of biased reffing again but after watching last night did anyone expect anything different? We were nearly robbed last week aswell but managed to battle through the sickening officiating. We were woeful today and got nothing from the ref, Utd were woeful yesterday and got helped by the ref, just the way it is and is gonna be for a long time by the look of it.

Im disappointed with today obviously but after last night you just realise they simply wont be allowed to lose the league regardless of what we do.

And it's on such small margins that titles can be decided. The dissalowed goal against Stoke at Anfield, the dissalowed goal against Portsmouth (thankfully we overcame that one and won anyway), and then just how Man U get all the decisions in their favour, and we rarely get them.

Thought Kompany could have been sent off for the foul on Skrtel - his boot was chest high, and nowhere near the ball. And then Dunne got away with a clever hand ball. I've watched it a few times, and it wasn't as if he was jumping for the ball - he just moved his arm us as an extra barrier, and it worked since he got nowhere near to heading the ball.

the ref had a better game than we did. certainly can't blame the referee for our not winning that.

agree. No ref gets everything right. Have to ask what we were doing between the 50th & 75th minutes. Pissing around, that's what

again thats wrong...as soon as the foul happened he pointed at El Zhar and was booking him as soon as the goal went out of play

Phil Dowd is a rubbish ref but he isn't the reason we didn't get the win today.

maybe if he did his job and saw the hand ball than we would have won the game

f*** all Dunne could do about it. We'd be saying the same if it was against us.

If our players could shoot for the corners of the goal, we'd win more games.

he had his arm away from his body, and stopped the ball going in, dermot callagher said earlier in the season that the refs decided that this would be counted as a penalty

We shouldn't have needed a dubious penalty to beat City. They have been absolutely dire away from home and our lot didn't wake up and put the effort in until City scored. That's why we dropped points, not because Phil Dowd missed a potential penalty.

United didn't need the ref's help in beating blackburn, but they got it!

If Howard webb and Dowd did their job properly this weekend the different between us and united would have been only 3 points

Coupled with a three match ban for Ronaldo.

Talking about handball's not being given... my mind is cast back to the 0-0 vs Fulham. Paintsil handled the ball 3 or 4 times that game all were deliberate in that he was either "protecting his face" or some s****.

I'd like the rules of handball to be changed. It should be the defenders' responsibility to get their arms out of the way of the ball. That would mean that a few free kicks and pens would be given where the defender had no chance to do anything else, but it would also mean that defenders would stop cheating so much and would also mean the refs didn't have to decide on "intent". At the moment it seems like defenders have free reign to handle a ball that's travelling anywhere near their face, and that refs are reluctant to give pens for anything other than playing basketball.

There was one in the first Everton FA Cup game - I think it was Jagielka, in "protecting his face" he managed to touch the ball with both arms the cheating c***.

Dunne's was absolute stonewall for me. If it was one of ours that did that away from home I'd be saying how lucky we were not to have a pen given against us.

absolutly

It was that french left back at West ham though who kept handling the ball , not Paintsil

Its the 2nd time in a few weeks (think the other one was West Ham) Ronaldo has lashed out at an opposing player, the ref hasn't seen it (or chose to ignore it for whatever reason), and the FA do FA about it!

People saying this s**** is sooooo f***ing irritating. We drew 0-0 with Stoke and were f***ing robbed by a dodgy ref and linesmen. Log on here and you read a load of "we had another 86minutes to score against Stoke" well yeah but that isnt the point, we shouldnt of needed to as we had a perfectly good goal ruled out. No one is demanding we are given free goals, just that refs actually you know get a decision right now and again.
