"Liverpool’s need to press ahead with the construction of a new stadium is highlighted by their relatively low matchday revenue figure of £39.2m despite an average crowd at Anfield of 43,500 — 2,100 above Chelsea, who pulled in £35.3m more from home games last season."

So Parry should be sacked because he hasn't put our ticket prices up high enough? Or we don't have enough corporates at the game?

we have 2000 more in attendance and earn 35million less? that can't be right.

depends on the relative ticket prices does it not?

In London, you can charge more and get away with it.

The relatively loyal fan base at the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and even West Ham, mean they would always maintain high attendances, with or without success; whereas Chelsea without success, and their fans will leave in their droves.

I still believe they rank behind both Manchester, Liverpool clubs, Newcastle, Sunderland, Arsenal, Villa, Spurs, even Leeds and Sheffield and without the free money propping them up, their fanbase would be amongst the also-rans.

They charge outrageous prices even for normal seats. My uncle used to have a season ticket for Chelsea (supported them since the '60s, blah ,blah), he stopped when they started asking for money up front for the possibility of maybe, if you're lucky, getting tickets for cup games (if you didn't you still never got your money back!). And that was before Roman took over.

Chelsea's ticket prices are far higher for regular seats and they also have a massive amount of corporate seats.

Anyone tempted to moan about our relative lack of match-day income might want to stop and think for a moment.

Back to the discussion about what we want from the football club, what our priorities are.

But for all the extra cash they spend on a ticket, they do get a little plastic flag! Think about the possibilities, no?

What we want is a reason to moan. Our priorities are that we are at the top in every football related list. We will see no contradiction in this.

or just get a sugar daddy in and become the thing most of us have despised.

Or build a time machine and either build the stadium ages ago around 2002, or do it in 2007 rather than sell on the same debt we are now saddled with simply for someone buying it out.

We could have been and still could be well run, financially sound and able to compete without a sugar daddy.
