So United now have two straightforward home matches - Fulham and Blackburn - so will probably be eight points clear when we play next. Then, though, we have three matches before they play again and all are very winnable - City at home, Boro away and Sunderland at home. Win them, we're back top, then United play Newcastle before we travel to OT. We need to be going into that game no less than two points behind and then it might well not be off.

Boro away is a potential banana skin though we dont have the best record there do we?

Every game is a potential banana skin but Boro have been very poor this season.

Don't really think we can win the title this year with us needing to make up 5 pts on the mancs - the ironic thing is though they're winning the league the Benitez way

Portsmouth 0-1 Man Utd

Man City 0-1 Man Utd

Man Utd 1-0 Sunderland

Stoke City 0-1 Man Utd

Man Utd 1-0 Middlesbrough

Man Utd 1-0 Wigan

Bolton 0-1 Man Utd

Man Utd 1-0 Everton

West Ham 0-1 Man Utd

Sh*t, didn't realise the fixtures were lining up like that. All sounds very ugly. I want no more telly punditry for the duration.

Pining for the days when people would have their radio at the game, blagging it sometimes that the other side had fallen behind and bouncing about on The Kop to get the team going again. The noise when they genuinely had let one in and going beserk at the reds etc...

Oxford at home springs to mind. Everton or someone losing somewhere, but ahead on goal difference, the news coming through and then us piling forward til it was 6-0, which took us top.

we probably cant afford to drop any more than 5 or 6 points if we are going to win the league. we have no margin forerror at the minute. we are essentially 5 points behind the Mancs, and i cant see them dropping more than 12 points the rest of the season

We could be 6 points behind really, with goal difference.

I honestly think we need to win every game from here on in to stand a chance. Hopefully Europe or the FA Cup will cause distraction for them.

I think to win the title we may have to win ALL our remaining games. Possible but difficult.

At which point in time will the mancs play their extra match? hate to say this but they continue to get these 1-0 wins all the way until the end of season, you cant help but say they deserve the damn title.

Ah, but it's swiftly replaced by another as their game against Portsmouth on the 28th Feb is postponed because of the Carling Cup Final. Date still to be decided I believe.
