New York Red Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Christ, he's been doing well for Milan. You got to give him credit.
Sion Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I've always not minded Beckham, which is amazing considering his origins. Under-rated player because of his media circus and a very good england captainbeats terry any day of the week
Sion Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 David Beckham is under-rated? think so yes, evident by the amount of people who think he's over-ratedparadoxical
mick Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 he is overrated. He should be remebered as a very good right midfielder for his time. Due to the hype and media bullsh!t he will be remembered as a great player across many generations. Its just wrong.
Jim D Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I thought once he had moved to the States we'd had seen the last of him, looks like I was wrong. Still like one big circus where the media are concerned.
Nebraska Red Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 over rated, under rated, hype, media circus etc. right now he is playing really well in the Milan team and contributing a darn sight more with his overall game than I ever saw him do for the Mancs. he is defending well now, which stunned me. however, I expect him to struggle with the England squad when he is asked to play with a team of donkeys rather than some of the thoroughbreds at Milan.
Cam Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Amazing ambassador for his country. And a perfect example of everything a multi-millionaire footballer should be; imagine if Pennant or Bellamy or Barton had his life.
johngibo YPC Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 David Beckham is under-rated? I think he is underrated by alot of people. He is clearly a very good footballer
New York Red Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 He works his b*llocks off in training. He always has. Here in the states he was plying his trade in all sorts of sh*tholes like Houston, Salt Lake City etc. Never copped an attitude. He's defending well and just seems to make things happen with Milan. He's also never been an irresponsible d*ckhead like so many others could have been. I've never seen the problem with him TBH.
Guy_Incognito Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 He's clearly an above average footballer, but it smarts with me when I see him selling allsorts like felt tip pens, and when I hear about him - a footballer - talking about "breaking America". Maybe it's me.
Hassony Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I think it shows more how bad italian football is at the moment, Beckham can probably play for another 4-5 seasons there!

I've never seen the problem with him TBH. his many years as a Manc were a major problem, mainly by association. if he could string more than 3 words together in a sentence, he could probably author a decent tell all book about old Ginsoak, sorry Mister Ginsoak.

Maybe it's me.totally. he stopped being a footballer years ago when he and his publicity whore of a wife became a brand. i hate the sell-out c*nt.
The Hitman Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 he is defending well now, which stunned me.If you never saw Beckham defend whilst playing for England and the Mancs, then you never watched him play. His work rate and tracking back was one of his greatest assets.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I think he is underrated by alot of people. He is clearly a very good footballerHe is, but nowhere near as good as the hype would lead you to believe
Flight Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I remember being sat near the corner flag at that game Jamie banged in two OG's; I think Beckham might have put the cross in for one of them. Anyway, it was just awesome to be near him watching him run down the line and put superb crosses in. Busy singing about Posh's various orifices, like. It was like watching a thoroughbred racehorse, though. Just a pity he could never have been shot like one.
Nebraska Red Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 If you never saw Beckham defend whilst playing for England and the Mancs, then you never watched him play. His work rate and tracking back was one of his greatest assets. I have some standards, I never watch the Mancs, unless they are playing Liverpool. I never watch England unless they have a large number of Liverpool players in the side or the opposition has a large number of Liverpool players.
Crazy Horse Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Just shows that the standard of Serie A is even worse than MLS these days.
Jimi Rojo Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Beckham is the one of the only players in the modern game who can regularly put in a reliable cross from the wing. (or free kick) How can it be possible that crossing the ball is so difficult for players these days? What do they do in training? Why are our corners shocking and why do most crosses go straight into the crowd. It's a joke He has other qualities of course, scored some absolute beauties for Madrid. But he can control and kick a ball, a very valuable skill in the game of football. For that reason alone he would still make just about any team in Europe.
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Not sure where this love is coming from, he's a t***.
New York Red Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 Hey, you have to give credit where credit is due.
MFletcher Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I like Beckham. He seems a decent family man, he never lets his head drop, he works his socks off for the side and never shirks his responsibilities. He also handled himself with far more class as England captain than Terry ever will. The way he conducted himself after they lost to Northern Ireland in Belfast was excellent. He applauded the crowd on the way to the dressing room and then spent two hours afterwards, in the pissing rain, signing autographs for the kids and having his picture taken. Every other player f***ed straight off.
