At least we dont have to suffer the s**** that ITV served up for us last night, Jim Beglin sticking the knife in at any chance and just as things couldnt get any worse the coverage cut to the adverts as the goal was scored!

that was the best part. pity we had to see so many replays, we could have pretended it never happened.

If we are looking on the bright side,

1) One less competition for our weakened squad to deal with. Our boys will be getting a rest when the next round is played out

2) Gerrard's injury will keep him out of the England game

Did the club treat Beglin badly after he had that bad leg break or something?

You always get a vibe from the commentators as to who they'd like to see win, and it always seems Jim Beglin wants to see us lose for some reason which seems odd as a former Liverpool player and league winner.

Has he forgotten it was an Everton player who effectively ended his career?

Sure the answer is somewhere in the match thread but was the story with the socks being lobbed on the pitch?

Sock it to ‘em

“Sock robbers, sock robbers, sock robbers,” the Liverpool fans sang at Goodison Park last night, bombarding the Bullens Road touchline with rolled-up balls of footwear. This was to taunt Evertonians about their proposed move to a stadium in Kirkby, which is outside Liverpool city limits. Scouse urban myth has it that, in the dark days of the 1960s and 1970s, not even odd socks were safe on a Kirkby washing line from local thieves. The legend has been taken up with a vengeance by the red side of the city.

I'll bet it was Lawro five times dressed up in different disguises.

Lawro dressed up as Jim Beglin when he saw what was happening.

Thought this thread was going to be about Lucas being suspended.

Any truth in the rumour we are going to appeal? And see if the FA will extend it to 5 games?

how desperate were the commentators to see Torres getting injured!!!

we'll have to listen to commentators talking about Torres hamstring or fitness every time we are on tv from now until the end of the season. That is a fact :)

absolutely, can we "fake" an injury for Torres too ?

The bright side is the same as it always is on the odd occasions they beat us.....despite last night's result I still can't think of a single reason why I wish I'd been born a Blue.

And the answer will always be no. They've spend the last 6 months slagging Rafa off for not picking him, they can't have it both ways

do you think the media would let such logic get in the way of a good sl*gging off?

i actually switched to ITV from Setanta Ireland, Beglin was the lesser of two evils..dunno who was commentating but it was excruciating, every second comment about Keane

Yep - they were completely gutted when Gerrard went of injured, because they were desperately hoping it was Torres, so they could point out what a mistake it was to sell Keane.
