CarraLegend Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 One of the most astonishing decisions in football. Incredible. Interesting precedent then, its ok to stud people in the back.
Bootle Buck Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It is OK for a Ref and Linesman to blatantly miss a petulant act carried out right in front of them and they want respect. Un-Fecking-Believable
Cam Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It is OK for a Ref and Linesman to blatantly miss a petulant act carried out right in front of them and they want respect. Un-Fecking-BelievableIt's why I can't respect them - they're taking the p*ss. It's like they want respect no matter how bad they are. No, you ****s, stand up to the players & clubs and the fans may just come back onside.
Jim D Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Never thought the FA could stoop as low as they did against Ferguson and Quieroz after they slandered the referee and Hackett.  But this now takes the biscuit...........what a marvellous precedent, players can go around now kung fu kicking one another. I can only think of one reason why the FA haven't charged him and that is to back up Riley on his decision. Defies all logic!
Logic Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Unbelievable! Â Is it possible they are ignoring this because they will back Riley up on the red card against Lampard? Just to keep Chelsea calm (or something). Â I just don't believe this......
Tosh Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Off the Beeb   1704: Breaking news: The Football Association has confirmed that no disciplinary action will be taken against Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa for his challenge on Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun on Sunday. So, physical assault on the football field is acceptable, but winning a tackle (Frank Lampard) is a red card offence. Pathetic.
ManxRed Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 No, you ****s, stand up to the players & clubs and the fans may just come back onside. Would still be flagged as offside though. Why am I not surprised by this latest FA decision?
Jim D Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 News filtering through is that the linesman did see the incident but since it was "dealt" with on the field of play it cannot be brought to the FA.....
Barnesy_10 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 News filtering through is that the linesman did see the incident but since it was "dealt" with on the field of play it cannot be brought to the FA.....Linesman needs to be banned then....
kop205 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) Is there not some bizarre thing that means they can appeal against their own decisions? Or is that only in the cases of fines/touchline bans being given to managers and the like? Â Edit - isn't the Compliance Unit but sure there is some such grandly titled body that they have that can appeal against their own decisions. Edited February 2, 2009 by kop205
billybunter Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 can someone explain how it was dealt with on the pitch? Or is riley saying 'Calm' a f***ing harsh and just lesson for the misdemeanour?
Whitey Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I'm stunned at this. What message are they trying to send here?
Billy Dane Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Even Scolari said they should have sent him off.
D.Boon Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Even Scolari said they should have sent him off. Â Its downright laughable.
dorgie Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The timing of this was obviously choreographed to co-incide with the closing of the transfer window....announce it around 5pm and and it'll get lost in all the transfer headlines. c****, the lot of them.
Sion Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Methinks they're trying to even it up for the Lampard redHad that not happened this would be a 3 game ban
baz2107 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 disgusting tackledisgraceful decisionlinesman should be banned if he saw it and didn't act
Hieronymus Bosch Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Methinks they're trying to even it up for the Lampard redHad that not happened this would be a 3 game banFor sure. They'll probably let Lampard off too and don't want to be seen contradicting the ref twice.
Earl Hafler Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It's starting to get to the awful point of asking " Why bother ? ".
Ramón BenÃtez Hernández Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 So, physical assault on the football field is acceptable, but winning a tackle (Frank Lampard) is a red card offence. Pathetic.  He slid in with studs showing. Straight red.
Benzo-13 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 What a shambles the FA are.Terrible decision.
Mike Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 He slid in with studs showing. Straight red. no he didn't, he clearly won the ball
magic melia Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 If cctv caught me kicking someone like that a saturday night i would rightly be brought to justice are footballers above the law
SkippyjonJones Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 if studs into the back of a player is ok then I guess smacking a manc in a pub should also be a no charge..
