Dan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Immense performance by the captain. His biggest performance against a top 4 side for some time and certainly his best ever against Chelsea. Fair f*cks to the lad he doesn't seem to have let the court case get to him one bit. I'm strongly tipping him to score the winner on Wednesday.
Tommy Cockles Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I will be laying him to score on Betfair as a direct result of this thread.
Hassony Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Could do without the dive,mind... Needs to cut out the diving though.... wrong He actually needs to improve his diving
CarraLegend Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 wrong He actually needs to improve his divingCorrect
Sion Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 wrong He actually needs to improve his diving is right. I wouldn't care less if we dived our way to the PL. In fact i'd probably prefer it.
Logic Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 wrong He actually needs to improve his divingGood point. Can you send him the Cronaldo DVD?
Earl Hafler Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 So now we're advocating diving ? He was excellent. Man Of The Match, even with Torres' brace.
Sion Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 So now we're advocating diving ?If Keane learned how to effectively dive he'd be a much greater asset
allawee Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 So now we're advocating diving ? He was excellent. Man Of The Match, even with Torres' brace. One of the sweetest things about the CL semi final win against Chelsea 2005, it was the goal was controversial and that really upset Morinho for few years and still does. I can't see us beating Man U at OT 4-0 which would be the perfect way to overtake them. The next sweetest thing would be a Gerrard dive for a controversial penalty and we win 1-0 to go top and stay top till May and for years after. Am I advoctaing diving, well if CRonaldo does it, it is cheating, if one of our lads does it, it is cute!
floyd Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Noticed Steven first touch on a lot of occasions, is to take the ball away from the opposing player and into his stride. Thus leaving the player out of the game. The boy is special, very special
yellow jumper Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 magnificent for the first 70. unbelievable.
Hassony Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Noticed Steven first touch on a lot of occasions, is to take the ball away from the opposing player and into his stride. Thus leaving the player out of the game. The boy is special, very special i was thinking that my self today, he is close to being the perfect footballer
Chili Palmer Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 i was thinking that my self today, he is close to being the perfect footballer If only he could dive...
Tosh Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 To be fair, whoever their holding midfielder was, he was not up to the job
muleskinner Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 To be fair, whoever their holding midfielder was, he was not up to the job It was Mikel, he looks to have gone backwards this season.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 their whole MF was s****. Lampard was anonymous until he went. I forgot Ballack was even playing at one point until I saw him & was genuinely surprised. Malouda is awful. In fact Mikel was their best MF. If it wasn't for their defence - Bosingwa & Alex, plus some good & lucky goalkeeping, it'd have been a cricket score
anfield11 Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 It was Mikel, he looks to have gone backwards this season. Never been much anyway. Pales in comparison to Essein or even old man Makele....not even to bring Didi up.
Ed the Wool Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Looked like there was contact to me to be honest. Alright he went down easily, but at that pace any contact can do that.
CaptainXabi Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Looked like there was contact to me to be honest. Alright he went down easily, but at that pace any contact can do that.He made a meal of it to say the least. He was in complete "over my dead body" mode, and was probably about to step it up another gear when Torres scored. It's just getting silly how good he is on a consistent basis these days.
Romario Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Noticed Steven first touch on a lot of occasions, is to take the ball away from the opposing player and into his stride. Thus leaving the player out of the game. The boy is special, very specialAMAZING TIME AND TIME AGAIN
Conrad Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 the greatest footballer to wear the Red since Kenny
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 So now we're advocating diving ? I am. Always have, and always will.
