beejay Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) Let's move on shall we. Chelsea still have a few injuries notably Carvalho & Cole J. They will probably go for : Cech, Bosingwa, Alex, Terry, ColeA, Mikel, Deco, Ballack, Lampard, Malouda (or Kalou) & Anelka with Drogba on the bench. Their width comes from the 2 fullbacks, they block up the middle & are still potent at set pieces. Our likely team assuming Agger still won't be fit is : Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Skretl, Aurelio, Kuyt, Mascherano, Alonso, Riera, Gerrard, Torres. I think we could have problems at set plays with that team but otherwise, our midfield is perfectly capable of mastering theirs and we just need Torres to come good. Edited February 1, 2009 by Macca
ManxRed Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Reina Torres, NGog, Gerrard, Babel, Kuyt, Keane, Pacheco, Nemeth, Voronin, and Heskey. B*ll*cks to defensive play.

Hassony Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 You heard a whisper? Jeez... Still time to bring JAR home in this transfer window
Chili Palmer Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Still time to bring JAR home in this transfer window That would just be kicking us when we are down.
D.Boon Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I bet the lazy c**** will lift their game for that one.
Bailo Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 ReinaTorres, NGog, Gerrard, Babel, Kuyt, Keane, Pacheco, Nemeth, Voronin, and Heskey. B*ll*cks to defensive play.Don't be ridiculous. Keane on the bench to start with.

D.Boon Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I would get Agger back in the team ASAP. Id also play Benny instead of Kuyt.

fred milne Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I would get Agger back in the team ASAP.Me too but I think he will stick with Skrtel. Kuyt was rested so he will play. To be fair, this is the kind of game where he can be useful at RM.
Swipe Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I would get Agger back in the team ASAP. Id also play Benny instead of Kuyt. Agree with that. For all Skrtel's promise, i think when Agger is fit he needs to start.
Hassony Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Skrtel has been excellent in the last three games, and he handles Drogba better than anyone
Swipe Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Skrtel has been excellent in the last three games, and he handles Drogba better than anyone I think we lose an awful lot when Agger isn't playing. Last night the amount of pointless hoofs we were using (although it was Carra rather than Skrtel) was infuriating
Bigal Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 PepeArbeloa Carra skrtel Aurelio Masch Alonso Kuyt Gerrard Riera Torres thats my team
fred milne Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Skrtel has been excellent in the last three games, and he handles Drogba better than anyoneTempting fate here but Drogba is not the player he was two years ago.
Jim D Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) Interesting stat......We have not won a league game in January since 2007. This season:Stoke City 0 - 0 LiverpoolLiverpool 1 - 1 EvertonWigan 1 - 1 Liverpool Last season:Liverpool 1 - 1 WiganBoro 1 - 1 LiverpoolLiverpool 2 - 2 Aston VillaWest Ham 1 - 0 Liverpool January is the new November...... League record from February onwards last season: P15 W11 D3 L1 Pts 36 If we replicate that record that'll give us 84pts at the end of the season....is that enough to win the League? Suppose even with the frustrating draws, we are still in with a shout, the lads and the backroom staff have just got to get their heads together. Edited January 29, 2009 by Jim D
Hassony Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Tempting fate here but Drogba is not the player he was two years ago. To be honest I think he is the same player, its just whether he is fired up or not Is it time for Skrtel and Agger to play at the back?

Hieronymus Bosch Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Skrtel has been excellent in the last three games, and he handles Drogba better than anyoneHe was pony against Everton in the league, to be fair, but looks like he's getting back to where he was.
Frosty Jack Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) beat chelsea, mancs and spurs. it's still down to those 3 games for us to narrowly win the league. it is still possible. Edited January 29, 2009 by Negativland

Chili Palmer Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 He was pony against Everton in the league he really wasn't.
