So I've got an urge to build a computer...and I need help from the techies out there.

 

I'm guessing I need:

 

PC Case

Hard Drive

CD/DVD/BluRay Drive

Processor

Processor Cooling Fan

Motherboard

Memory Modules

Power Supply

Video Card

 

Anything else for a normal system?

 

Any recommendations on individual components? Newegg.com seems to have a good selection at decent prices. Anything I should stay away from, or keep in mind for upgrading purposes down the road? My current computer is solid (2.16GHz DualCore, 3GB RAM), but isn't very upgradeable now - I want something that will support closer to 8GB/16GB or RAM and over a 3GHz processor.

 

And any other tips/suggestions will be much appreciated. Ta!
