He has outlived his use and yes we wont win the title this season or ever under him..He is as negative as Houllier and his I knowitall attitude is a disgrace.. We should sack him now and start building for next season.. Get proven winners who play football to win like Rijkaard in.. In the interim we should appoint King Kenny to get rid of Benitez.. The contract talks should have been sorted if the off season..

Benitez did make some very strange decisions tonight.

 

Dropping Alonso for Lucas.

 

Taking off Gerrard for Keane (the player in form for the player out of form, when we need a goal).

 

Taking off Benayoun who was looking threatening and played really well, for Mr Graft Kuyt.

 

He's really making some odd decisions, which are proving costly. He did last season, he did the season before.

 

I don't see much reasoning behind his decision making at times, more randomness.

 

For the first time under his reign, I am beginning to lose faith. However I will judge him at the end of the season. Now I think he (more importantly the team) needs support more than critics.

This is what does my head in, who cares about bossing the game? whats the point of having all that possession when we hardly tested there keeper?

Call's for Rafa's head is a bit premature give it to the end of the season and review his progress.

I do not think my opinions would have changed.. If we had won I still would have criticised the negative frame of mind.

If not than we should get a new man in. Benitez has been at the helm for a long time and has had more than adequate time..

Then, points in the bag, Rafa makes a load of pointless changes. We draw level and he takes the one player left on the field capable of bring us back into it!

Maybe not.

 

However he made some really odd decisions and he keeps doing this.

 

It's not just one decision which makes fans feel like this it is lots of small decisions which add up to beginning to lose faith in a manager.

 

- Dropping Keane after scoring the game before.

- Subbing Gerrard tonight.

- Playing Lucas over Alonso.

- Refusing to drop Kuyt. (tonight was a rare occsion)

 

I think he tries to be too clever at times and it really does bite us back in the a***.

 

For the record, I am still behind him, but he does frustrate me at times (and I'm pro Rafa).

I sort of agree, Houllier went backwards after the treble winning season. Im beginning to think Rafa will if we don't win the league this year.

It to was very suprised at the decisions Rafa made especially after the equalizer.

Sometimes I get the feeling he just tries to do something really unexpected and flashy so that everyone will gow "WOW what a coach" just that it totally backfires most of the time.

 

Still wouldn't sack him just yet. Its still the players who don't manage to create chances ...

Rafa, and his fixation with "Catenaccio", will probably end up costing us.

Don't ever seem to remeber his Valencia side being like this though
