Sion Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Wigan don't tend to sit back as much as the likes of Stoke or Fulham, especially being at home. They'll probably/hopefully play two upfront like they did vs united, or my conspiracy theory will be going into overdrive. 3-1 to us.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 either Wigan are a half-decent team this season, or about 14-15 of the Prem teams are utter guff
Jarg Armani Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 hope they sell a few more of their players before wed
Flasher Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Selling the players they have helps us, as they have been half decent this year. Much as it pains me to say it, Bruce has been doing a good job. Losing Hesky and Polacios will hurt them though. If I was Bruce, i'd sit deep and take the draw.
johngibo YPC Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 either Wigan are a half-decent team this season, or about 14-15 of the Prem teams are utter guff I thought they looked very good at AnfieldAnd i would say its a strong league this year
Ben 23 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Aurelio and Reira back in for Kuyt and Doss'. And maybe Keane in for Babel if Gerrard will play on the right. Torres will score in this one.

Any change in formation is more likely to come from them selling Heskey than Bruce trying to help Ferguson and screw us over.
redjersey Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Jesus, we HAVE to win this.So true. The Mancs play West Brom on Tuesday so we'll be 3 points adrift before we kick off on Wednesday, with a difficult game against Chelsea to follow. We can't afford any more draws.
Knox_Harrington Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I thought they looked very good at AnfieldAnd i would say its a strong league this yearYip yip. And they played one up front at Anfield as well before anyone starts.
Stevie H Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 bruce has signed ben watson from palace to replace palacios and hugo rodallega, a colombian striker, to replace heskey. i hate playing teams giving debuts to new players.
Red Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 2 players unused to the pace and intensity of the premiership and uncertain in their new surroundings? I know what you're saying Stevie, but could go the other way, let's hope it does.
fred milne Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I'd like to see Kuyt left out of the starting line-up tomorrow. His early season goalscoring form has long since departed and he has looked leggy in the last few games. Give Babel another start and keep Kuyt fresh for Chelsea on Sunday - one of the few fixtures when Kuyt actually merits the automatic start he has for all games under Rafa.

This isn't on TV is it?

Walrus Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Agree with that. This isn't on TV is it?It's on Canal+ in Scandinavia anyway, for what it's worth.
fred milne Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I'd third that up to "actually merits".I'm not sure I follow you.
Knox_Harrington Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I'm not sure I follow you.I'd start Babel ahead of Kuyt tomorrow, for the reasons you state. He looks very leggy. But I'd say that whether through quality (of his performances over a long stretch) or default (inability of those who could replace him) Kuyt has deserved his automatic starter status this season. Should Babel get his game Wednesday at Kuyt's expense then it'd be good to see him put a marker down.
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 So true. The Mancs play West Brom on Tuesday so we'll be 3 points adrift before we kick off on Wednesday Don't worry, West Brom will do them 2-0 and we'll be top again without kicking a ball.

Hassony Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 It's a very Kuyty game though isn't it. A. Valencia will need looking after. Valancia plays on the opposite wing though doesn't he!
Bigal Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Aye he is a right winger, he beat O'shea plenty at OT.
Stevie H Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 which throws up who should play leftback for us since valencia's probably their best player. aurelio if fit i guess. dossena remains jury out defensively.
