No doubt about it.....this season we have definetly improved....i wouldnt say its been our most entertaining brand of football ive seen from us...still Rafa has built a solid foundation that still needs a couple world world class match winners to go alongside torres and gerrard

 

 

id love to see this as our first choice next season.....Yes two of carra,agger or skrtel im happy with all 3.

We still need two quality wingers.......as we have for years, Reira is a decent player, honestly dont think hes good enough though....maybe he needs a few more months? though im not sure.. i think the player we see now, is the player he will always be....flashes of genius, some nice flicks and a great shot....yet inconsistent with no pace.

 

Full backs...i think Arbeloa has proven himself a solid full back...im more than happy to see him stay there.

Insua has looked quality in the time we`ve seen him....potentially he can make that position his own.

 

No doubt in my mind, the above formation works best with the players we have......lets hope we can buy players that actually fit into that system..

all 3 just dont cut it for me at anfield....

 

dossena looks way out of his depth in the premiership...

 

Babel a controversial choice im sure for many on here, but again it goes back to the players and formation Rafa likes to use...and Babel just doesnt fit in, even when we`ve seen him this season for us trying a different approach...hes done next to nothing and seems to me a player ready to leave.

 

Keane....well again, he doesnt fit with the way we play, and this is important, Torres is someone who works best as a lone striker, IF we he were to have a 2nd partner(ie as a different approach depending on who we play)..then it needs to be someone who can take the weight of torres, someone strong who works the space....

 

Keane is a player that likes to play in the hole, though would sit much closer to torres than gerrard...this doesnt really fit in with how we set up and the players we have.....works fine in a standard 4-4-2, but as we saw the other night....we dont have the pace on the wings or at full back for that formation...

 

Biggest thing for me is............in torres and gerrard we have two world class players who would get into any side, and YES we must have the side built around those two, what suits them best....is what needs to happen.

I would say we are ok for LM at the moment with Riera and Babel as backup. But would add right back to the right mid need (RM being the biggest need). As for realistic options:-
