madaboutlfc Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 It is unbelievable that there was just one yellow in this game.. This game demonstrates how much s*** we have when it comes to refs..
Chili Palmer Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 usually he is decent, he blew for every little thing tonight. poor.
madaboutlfc Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 the thing is Phil Neville thrice played the man but there was no card.. Then we had a pen which could not be more blatant nothing again.. Its as if refs have a vendetta against us
MFletcher Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 The penalty was blatant. He has no excuse for not giving it, especially when he's standing about three yards from it with a clear view.
Sion Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Made me laugh when mcmanaman said 'torres has been clever inviting the trip' what f***ing difference does that make, still a f***ing foul you g*******

Its as if refs have a vendetta against us for pointing out that they bend over in front of Mr Ferguson?
chrisbonnie Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 he was crap for both teams so.. agreed if torress`was a pen, so was the foul on anichebe, he was equally s**** for both teams
CarraLegend Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 agreed if torress`was a pen, so was the foul on anichebe, he was equally s**** for both teams Anichebe shouldnt of been in the area because he should of been pulled up for barging over Alonso, how that wasnt given was amazing. And 2 f***ing minutes at the end?!! Hardly ever see that in the Premiership even if theres no subs, and I can guarantee there is no chance of that every happening at OT is the game is level or Utd are behind. We were gash anyway so probably wouldnt of scored but you never know.
Foxtrot Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 We had two legitimate shouts for penaly there. None given. Instead a soft free kick in the dying seconds against Benayoun was given. Says it all, really. Oh hold on, same ref that didn't show off Rooney against Chelsea.
stonty Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Blaming the Ref for Rafa's lack of testosterone is clutching at straws mate
Bo Benn Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I have seen a few very poor referee performances over the years, Webb was not even distantly close enough to that for us to imply tonight's result was in some way down to him. In fact I think it is a little bit ridiculous to bring up a thread about the ref after we have played such a poor game. I thought it was a penalty, but unlike most people around here I could didn't feel it was 100% clear cut.
lawrie Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Derby games are scrappy affairs at the best of times but he blew his whistle for feck all (on both sides) If he's the best we've got, we're in trouble.
LondonLiverpoolFan Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 It is unbelievable that there was just one yellow in this game.. This game demonstrates how much s*** we have when it comes to refs.. Errr there were 2 yellows.... Pienaar and Arteta. I also though that Neville was booked but having checked the BBC it appears I was mistaken.
Sion Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Who's the ref on sunday?Webb had a pretty amateurish game, didn't do anything drastically wrong, but had a real negative effect on the game with little decisionsAs for 2 minutes at the end! f*** off, did he need a s*** or something.
Barnesy_10 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 f*** the ref..... he was s**** for both teams..he's not priority and at fault for tonights result.
Gomez Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) Was afraid of making a big decision tonight. In no Universe was that not a penalty. It looked clear cut in real time and was backed up by the replays. Not sure what brand of crack Setanta were smoking. Edited January 19, 2009 by Gomez
CarraLegend Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) Can't blame the ref for our own shortcomings. Dont see anyone saying "We are perfect but were conned by the ref" to be fair. When are comments allowed on a refs performance out of interest? If we lose or draw people get labelled bitter for commenting, if we win and slag the ref its who cares we won?! Spot on, not blaming Webb for taking off all our strikers, blaming Webb for bottling a blatent penalty. Some people are very black or white.
Foxtrot Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Didn't anyone see Hibbert imitating a volleyball player late in the game in his own box? That was a second peno... for sure!
Logic Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Didn't anyone see Hibbert imitating a volleyball player late in the game in his own box? That was a second peno... for sure!Agreed. Two obvious penalties with the ref just a few metres away and still nothing. We need to start paying the refs as much (or more) than the Mancs do..... (we were still sh*t)

He was f***ing guff tonight, he should have booked 3 inside 20 mins, but it wasn't his fault
Paisley Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 It's not Howard Webb's fault if we can only manage three decent chances in a derby game, where a win would have put us back on top of the league.
