Anichebe shouldnt of been in the area because he should of been pulled up for barging over Alonso, how that wasnt given was amazing.

 

And 2 f***ing minutes at the end?!! Hardly ever see that in the Premiership even if theres no subs, and I can guarantee there is no chance of that every happening at OT is the game is level or Utd are behind. We were gash anyway so probably wouldnt of scored but you never know.

We had two legitimate shouts for penaly there. None given. Instead a soft free kick in the dying seconds against Benayoun was given. Says it all, really. Oh hold on, same ref that didn't show off Rooney against Chelsea.

I have seen a few very poor referee performances over the years, Webb was not even distantly close enough to that for us to imply tonight's result was in some way down to him. In fact I think it is a little bit ridiculous to bring up a thread about the ref after we have played such a poor game.

 

I thought it was a penalty, but unlike most people around here I could didn't feel it was 100% clear cut.

Derby games are scrappy affairs at the best of times but he blew his whistle for feck all (on both sides) If he's the best we've got, we're in trouble.

Errr there were 2 yellows.... Pienaar and Arteta. I also though that Neville was booked but having checked the BBC it appears I was mistaken.

Webb had a pretty amateurish game, didn't do anything drastically wrong, but had a real negative effect on the game with little decisions

As for 2 minutes at the end! f*** off, did he need a s*** or something.

Was afraid of making a big decision tonight. In no Universe was that not a penalty. It looked clear cut in real time and was backed up by the replays. Not sure what brand of crack Setanta were smoking.

Dont see anyone saying "We are perfect but were conned by the ref" to be fair.

 

When are comments allowed on a refs performance out of interest? If we lose or draw people get labelled bitter for commenting, if we win and slag the ref its who cares we won?!

Spot on, not blaming Webb for taking off all our strikers, blaming Webb for bottling a blatent penalty.

Agreed. Two obvious penalties with the ref just a few metres away and still nothing.

 

We need to start paying the refs as much (or more) than the Mancs do.....

I agree with this. He was f***ing guff tonight, he should have booked 3 inside 20 mins, but it wasn't his fault

It's not Howard Webb's fault if we can only manage three decent chances in a derby game, where a win would have put us back on top of the league.
