We aren't going to get a thread about the possible knock-on effects on H&G refinancing are we?

I read that earlier and was wondering if it means

A) The bank won't give G&H any trouble over the loan 'cause they could sell the debt on in any takeover of their bank.

OR

b) Will they say sorry we need the dosh hand it back now!!

Look I don't know anything about finance, but, a friend of mine works for a mortgage broker, he is the company accountant. They have done well and are looking at buying a very small, one branch bank. He was saying the other day that they are getting it cheap because of the amount of monies owed to the bank, but, did mention that some of the large debts can be worth taking on in the long run and one of the things that interested them. Makes no sense to me, but, then again, I only got a grade 5 cse in maths, and was chuffed to bits with that!

So, as RBS is more or less nationalized now, the government bought the shares at 60% more than they are today?
