Well that was a complete train wreck of a performance. I love Rafa, but never a more frustrating manager have I ever known. Don't get me wrong, EVERY single player tonight was fecking abysmal. And I'm ot talking off par, but f*****g atrocious. However, when it was so blatantly obvious how poor it was, the changes he made, and the ones he didn't, were beyond comprehension.

I've said it before and got ridiculed, but Kuyt, Lucas and Benayoun are schite. Lucas and Benny's recent form soon went back to its usual ways tonight. Benayoun anonymous, except for popping up inside and running straight into opposition players. I darent even describe Lucas' performance because it was beyond words.

But my overall all point is, when it's not working, and when players are so shocking you HAVE to change them!

1. Leaving Lucas on and not moving Gerrard back to the middle to allow two up front

2. Leaving Benayoun on for so long.

3. Taking Riera off.

4. Not putting Kean on AT ALL

5. Leaving Kuyt on the pitch after the most innefective lone striker perfomances ever (though massively contributed to by the complete crap supposedly helping him in Gerrard and Benayoun.

All shockingly obvious and baffling decisions by Rafa. And there's not 1 there, there 5. And probably even more.

There's a lot of sensationalist nonsense going on now, which is to be expected, people love making themselves the centre of a drama when there isn't one really..

However, I didn't understand the need to move Kuyt from the right of midfield where he does his best work. I don't understand the way things have gone for Keane. He's been frustrating with his performances and we really needed him today. I'd have thought that between Keane as a mature player at his dream club and Rafa we'd have found a way to get something approaching a decent run of form by now. Its not working is it ? Its a real shame.

Rafa biggest fan, but that was terrible. Terrible perfomance by the manager which given yesterdays events could have larger impact on the team.

I am sure there are not many people, fans, pundits or otherwise, who would have agreed with that team today.

Totally agree with all the 5 points made. Rafa you are so frustrating at times and very stubbon!

Liverpool 0-0 Stoke City

Liverpool 0-0 West Ham

Liverpool 0-0 Fulham

Stoke City 0-0 Liverpool

360 minutes of football and not a single goal to show for it, half of that time against Stoke City who are likely relegation candidates this season. We've done brilliantly against the top 4 but these type of results are letting us down badly, our inability to beat the weaker teams. Mancs took 6pts off Stoke City, we took 2pts. Frustrating.

Been better going for it in those games and risk losing, even 2 wins and 2 defeats is a better return that what we had.

Spot on with the 5 points. Rafa was banging on how difficult a game this was going to be. FFS they have lost their last 4 games and lost to Hartlepool last week. Our player looked like they were expecting a really hard game and didn't bother showing up themselves. Feck Man Utd and how hard the game is going to be and pick the right team and formation for the game. Go into the game full of confidence of being top and with our current form. He should have saved the outburst until we had the points in the bag.

Its not just us lots of teams are struggling to break teams down when they stick men behind the ball, it puts a whole different complexion on things when you manage to nick a 1-0 like Man Utd did against Stoke with a late goal or like Arsenal did today with another late goal.

When that doesn't happen it obviously puts a huge spotlight on the manager and the players, had we won 1-0 today it would still have been a poor performance and there still would have been some question marks about certain decisions Rafa made but that soon gets forgotten because its 3 points won.

Thats the most frustrating bit once again we've blown a huge opportunity to put pressure on the teams below us and we have some very hard games coming up, Villa are only 5 points behind us now. I guess the one positive is this team does seem to play better against the better sides and hopefully getting a fully fit Torres back will turn some of these 0-0's into 1-0s, because we're a much better side once we've scored the first goal and teams have to come out against us.

All good points. Not using Keane when in form was yet another blunder. Kuyt is the golden child.

I see what you're saying, but it's not just the performance that's annoying, its the lack of ambition to try and do something about it. At least Arsenal actuall took the game to Bolton today (taking on your one exanple) and put on a secongd striker and had chance after chance. Although I didn't see the Stoke v Utd game, you can bet they had 4 or 5 attackers (of sorts) on the pitch by the time they scored and weren't playing 1 up as we were till the end).

At one point towards the end, Kuyt was playing like an extra centre midfielder.

That was a shiete performance, full, stop.

We bottled IMHO

I just think we lacked creativity to penetrate a well organised Stoke team. Alonso is massive loss!

s****. We didn't bottle it. Stoke is a f***ing hard place to go.

It's was all about the result, we were never gonna go there and blitz it. Unlike Man U there, we just didn't get lucky...

Credit where it's due, Stoke played us really well today and earned their point. That said it was pretty obvious after 20 minutes that the front two weren't getting much service and the subs Rafa made failed to change the basic (ineffective) shape of the team. In hindsight taking Lucas off with Gerrard dropping back into midfield and Keane and Torres both up top was definately worth a go, even if only for the last 15 minutes of the game.

That was the biggest problem today.

Lucas is not clever enough to pick those passes, but thats not a crticism of him. He is no Alonso and not may are.

We were poor all round, but ball retention was shocking. And I can't remember a game where we were so slow to pick up the second ball.

if the manc's win their games in hand we wont be top. we still have to go there yet too. too many 0-0 draws this season will ultimately cost us. how many league games this season have we how failed to score in? we wont be 6 points away from whoever wins the league. 4 dropped against stoke and that 2-2 against Hull will be the games that will cost us the title. there is no doubt about that in my mind. we are far too defensive, and thats why we wont win the title this year. we just wont play to OUR strengths

Sad but true.

Some Arsenal pals came around to watch their / our games on Nova, when they saw our team they asked what was Rafa thinking, my only reply was "f*** knows"!
