It worked because Newcastle aren't as defensive as Stoke, they don't have the aerial presence either....saying it worked for Newcastle and not Stoke is irrelevant because they play differently.

Well, he worked his a*** off (as he always does) and frustrated the Stoke defenders in the first half, which, in a game like this, is enough to warrant a 3rd spot.
