I have a 7 year old nephew and a 5 year old niece. Since both of them have been born I have been on an aggressive merchandising campaign to make sure they are Liverpool fans for life. (their father is a fairweather Manc fan).

My nephew is a take it or leave it football fan, but my niece is now obsessed with liverpool, her bedroom is a shrine.

anyhow, my sister had a new baby girl yesterday so I called up my niece to congratulate her on the arrival of her new baby sister:

Uncle: "Hi there, congratulations on your new baby sister! its very exciting isnt it?"

Niece: (sounding very worried)" Oh yeah thanks, but I have some really really bad news for you"

Uncle: "oh..whats that"

Niece: "its really bad news"

(at ths stage i was getting genuinely worried)

Uncle: "tell me what it is"

Niece: "someone in school told me that steven gerrard, our best player, punched a man united player and knocked his tooth out, and now hes in jail and wont be able to play for liverpool"

Uncle: "thats not true, he did not, and hes not in jail. he'll ne playing this weekend"

Niece: " Really?!"

Uncle: "I promise"

Niece: (phone drops and i hear running around) "YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WOO HOOO!"

So there you have it, Steven Gerrards liberty takes precedent over the importance of little girls newly born sister!

right or wrong?!
