Digital camera

Alright folks.

It's the missus' birthday next week and her digital camera has packed in,so I thought I'd fetch her a new one-she seems fairly obsessed with photos on a night out.

Does anybody have any recommendations on cameras to buy,brands etc?

 

Nothing too expensive,she's only taking casual snaps,nothing arty.
