anny road Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 he has done really well in the last few games i think he has saved his Liverpool career
Swipe Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Said the same to my mate today. Been really good these last few games. Getting involved and carrying a threat. Can't complain either, as he's started quite a few recently
_00_deathscar Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Dittoed. Was very disappointing prior to about 3 games back.
gns Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 as good as ive seen him play for us today, not a favorite of mine by any means but I thought he did exceptionally well today. Gave us great width and rarely wasted possession as is often his biggest downfall.
stressederic Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Did really well with Gerrard's 1st goal today and Keane's 2nd on Boxing Day.
Romario Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Agreed. He's been really excellent. I've never been a big fan but he's played at the very top of his game the last few weeks and it's great to see. Fair play to him.
New York Red Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Agreed. He's looked really good. Confident, aggressive, not giving away the ball and not running into his teammates.
carrafan Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 He's a good option to play as he commits defenders and makes great runs. He also has the knack of getting into space in the opposition penalty box. One can see him in space just waiting for the ball to be passed to him in many of the highlight reels when we get into the box. Good player who works hard defensively as well. Better than Park at United. He's not really an impact player though and has best use in a game where he starts and this is one of the reasons he hasnt looked good for us. Luis had the ability to be an impact player with his unpredictability, Benny needs a good part of the game to create that one opening for himself or for another player. He's a nice guy who doesnt gloat the media attention but is still rated by a lot of teams outside the top 4.
Earl Hafler Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 First time in about a year that he's had a run in the side. Obviously one of those players who needs a few games to play himself into form.
Swagger Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I think he is highly rated by Rafa, who more often than not seems to prefer Benayoun's intelligent play to, say, Babel's pace and power. Benayoun's game is somewhat dependent on the quality of the strikers in front of him, and in a sense he has suffered because of Torres' injury. We saw against Bolton (Keane) and today against Newcastle (Gerrard) that if an attacking player will get himself into a good position then Benayoun is able to spot him and deliver an excellent ball. Obviously this doesn't always work, but when it does, it is very effective.
psl Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) Playing well and definatel jew a goal 'Due'. Even though its Yossi. Edited December 28, 2008 by psl
Molby Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 'Due'. Even though its Yossi. err....no I'm backing Jew on this one - it was a hilarious pun
Saintslfc13 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I have to say he's really impressed me lately as well. I've been one of his biggest critics but I'm glad he's come through for the side lately, thought he drifted inside a bit too much at times but that's his game so I can't really fault him for that as long as he keeps producing.
Bootle Buck Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 He really can be a very good player when he is on form. He was even tracking back really well in the last few games too.
Flight Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 he has done really well in the last few games i think he has saved his Liverpool career Well said. He's been boss.
Frosty Jack Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 err....no I'm backing Jew on this one - it was a hilarious pun brittle bones
Raybouldsrightpeg Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Seems like more playing time is allowing him to sync better with the regulars.
fred milne Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 he has done really well in the last few games i think he has saved his Liverpool careerI've always thought he was a good player for the squad. His form at the start of the season was disappointing although he wasn't helped by being played out of position on the left. Having him and Riera in the wide midfield positions in a 4-4-2 worked a treat against Bolton and is something I'd like to see more of against teams that come to Anfield with 10 men behind the ball.
Conrad Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Yes, fair play. I have never liked him, and would be the first to moan if his name was in the starting XI - but last 2 or 3 games he has been very good. Much more incisive.
Rex Ham Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Even won a tackle yesterday against Bolton an all...could hardly believe my eyes. Long may it continue.
