Conor Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 If he talks like that to the players no wonder the team is full of confidence. There is a real determination and conviction in everything he says. It fires me up.
ZZZZ Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Agree - His interviews, pre and post game have been very good. He emphasizes three things in particular; the club and that it should be top of the table, the team over any one player and Rafa and the backroom team he has built. Each interview is like a replica of the other ones and impressive
floyd the barber Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 on another sammy note............love it that the old sammy song is being sung!...makes me feel like im back in the 80`s with us challenging for the title.....huh.,eh,weird?.......!!!
Bootle Buck Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 He is very polished and as good as Rafa at staying focused on the next game and improving. He is especially good at keeping the Sky bloodhounds in their place and frustrating the s*** out of them.
Guest PaulMcC Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 He gives the press f*** all and keeps me amused at the same time. Class.
Magic8Ball Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Good to have him back, but why did he fail at Bolton ?
Conor Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 It's pure Rafa as well hat he gives praise to the players but always ends that there is room for improvement. "this is what Liverpool football club is about" etc. Him coming back has been huge in my opinion. Was it true that Rafa never wanted him to leave when he first arrived?
R A Softlad Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 on another sammy note............love it that the old sammy song is being sung!...makes me feel like im back in the 80`s with us challenging for the title.....huh.,eh,weird?.......!!! I wanna start the 'Bring back that Ronnie Whelan' again...
Maldini Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Good to have him back, but why did he fail at Bolton ? He tried to make too many changes too quickly and he tried to get them playing football when they just didn't have the players.
Benitez Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 It's pure Rafa as well hat he gives praise to the players but always ends that there is room for improvement. "this is what Liverpool football club is about" etc. Him coming back has been huge in my opinion. Was it true that Rafa never wanted him to leave when he first arrived? yeah, I think it was Sammy's decision to leave, he wasn't shown the door as Phil Thompson was.
Chili Palmer Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 yeah, I think it was Sammy's decision to leave, he wasn't shown the door as Phil Thompson was. Thommo said he wasn't shown the door, he said that Rafa said he would like him to stay on but Thommo knew it was the right time to go.
Andy @ Allerton Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Made up Sammy is back. Next LFC Manager in 30 years?
Kahnee Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Made up Sammy is back. Next LFC Manager in 30 years? Not sure about that. Could be he's one of life's assisstant managers
Stevie H Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 If he talks like that to the players no wonder the team is full of confidence. There is a real determination and conviction in everything he says. It fires me up.agree with that, i've loved his recent interviews, he's so positive about everything. a natural number two, he must be great to work with on the training pitch.
Benitez Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Thommo said he wasn't shown the door, he said that Rafa said he would like him to stay on but Thommo knew it was the right time to go. Thought that was the case with Sammy, not PT. Could have sworn that it was Sammy who did the 'right time to go thing'. Whereas Thommo openly stated he wanted to stay.
Puma Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 (edited) Sammy seems to have been a very positive influence for the team this season. It's really good to keep some of the boot room tradition alive. On another note, it was interesting to see Rafa sit in the second row last night........ Edited January 4, 2009 by Puma
